Update On Mr.Kitty

Dad wasn't home to feed Mr.Kitty, so Mom knew he was hungry. After feeding us she saw him waiting for his dinner, so she went and got his food. She walked out there and he saw her and he got a bit scared. She told him that she had dinner for him and talked to him, but he backed away. She put down his plate full of food and asked him if it was OK he she took a picture of him. He sat real still and seemed to say it was alright, so Mom took a few quick pictures. He is a handsome orinch boy. We only wish Mr. Kitty wasn't feral, Mom and Dad know that being feral he won't let us near him, but we'll do our best to keep him as happy as can be. We are already worried about him for this upcoming winter weather. Although we are blessed to be in a temperate climate, it still goes to below freezing a few times each year.

  2. Mr Kitty look healthy for me. He might be not a feral.

On my street ( You can't be sure till you send them to check microchip ) All cats are not get close to human who are not their owners even Smudge ( the cat's next door ), he always run away. Most of the cats on my street are like that. and all of them have owner.

Just only me who love to be touch by human. Everyday, I will sneak out and sit on my footpath waiting for human touch me : )

But if he is a feral. and you really want to help. You can open your garage for him. At least , he have a shelter to sleep with warm blanket, and you might can leave food and water for him.

My mom saw one cat, he always come to our garage about 9-11 pm. She think he is a feral. He is very very skinny . His face look sad and panic. and he came very late and always walk straight through our garage ( we leave the door open , and have some old blanket in there ) but mom are not sure because most cats around here do have owners.

  7. Oh Mr. Kitty, you are truly a handsome orange boy. You are so lucky to have caring beans who feed you and worry about you. But you know that..you're just uncertain and trying to stay safe. You're afraid to give them your heart right now.

Lots of head bonks and purrs to you, handsome Mr. Kitty. Mommy thinks you're gorgeous. xox

  8. I feel your pain. After four years, I still can't pick Millie up, and she meows until I leave the room so she can eat her dinner in peace.

    Mr Puddy has good advice.

Millie is microchipped, btw, in case she ever does get out.

  11. He's a very handsome boy indeed!

As long as he has food and shelter, he'll be okay. It would be great if he learned to trust you, though.

It took our mom 3 years to make friends with the neighbour's cat, the one she cheats on us with, and he'll still take off when other humans approach or before he realizes it's his Auntie Kim. He's not well-socialized with humans or even other cats, has been badly scared by people, she thinks.

Is it possible the same is true for Mr. Kitty? That's he's not completely feral? Poor sweetie!

  17. We are purraying that Mr. Kitty will learn to trust your dad and/or mom. Patience seems to pay off with feral kitties a lot of the time. Bless y'all for caring for him. xxxxxxxxx

  18. Mr. Kitty you are very lucky that someone is feeding you regularly. I hope you stay safe and around and maybe you will feel brave enough to get captured and come inside and live with handsome Ping--although I think Ping likes being the only orange boy there!

  21. What a handsome guy!! If you can't catch him and try to socialize him a little more, maybe putting a shelter outside for winter...like one of those igloo things.

  22. Mr Kitty is a cutie! And hopefully he will get a bit braver for you!

And oh, you can make a shelter from storage bins - if you search shelter for feral cats on google there are lots of sites with instructions and they don't look super expensive. And I know that someone posted about it last year on their blog - for some reason I want to say Misses Peach but I am not positive on that one.

  23. Yes, Maw was always worried about Orinch being outside at our previous house because it can get quite cold in the winter time in Dallassss. Now he is inside all the time. Although he won't allow petting, he seems to be fairly happy with being inside, except when certain poodins sneak up on him and try to whup him.

  24. He does look good for a feral - some cats are very shy with people - he may have had a bad experience with humans. We made a shelter in our crawlspace with a plastic trash bin on its side and a fleece blanket. The garage is good too. I have also put a cat travel carrier on our porch for one that came inside eventually. All ours are feral and have been tamed - it takes time but it happens.
