On Frozen Pond

This was taken the first week in December, notice the fountain is frosty and icy but the water is still moving.
This is how it looks this morning. Yesterday it froze solid and NEVER unfroze. It was that cold all day long.
There is even ice up along the side of the fountain bowl.

The water is frozen completely solid.
The past two days our night time temperatures hovered around 20F.
I know for many that is not that cold.
But we are in Florida.
The past two nights we had record breaking cold.
But today the high will rebound to nearly 60F,and tomorrow nearly 70F.
I don't know about you, but I find the weather patterns:

  1. That is amazing indeed. I was in Virginia last week with my kids, and I thought I was going to freeze up there. Sarah is finding it very cold. It is cold down here too, but we didn't have lows as low as you did.

The ice is amazing. They were just saying on the news that the farmers down near Okeechobee are not prepared for the freeze like the Plant City strawberry farmers are.

It's beautiful out right now and, as you said, will be up into the 70's tomorrow or the next day.

  2. Those pics are pretty, but they make our furtips shiver just looking at them! It's pretty cold here in NC too but we haven't seen any frozen stuff like that. Yet.

  3. Our birdbath froze up one night last week but it didn't stay that way for long. We're in southern OK.

  4. just a couple more inches of snow here and we will haf the snowiest december since the civil war!

I's coming down to help keep you warm my sweet petite tuxie angel!

  5. Nows those are some cool shots of da fountain!

It was around 10 degrees this morning and mum coffee froze when he went outside...hehehe! But ya'll is in Fl so dis is like a phenomenon.

  6. Wow!! Now that is what I call totally solidly and completely frozen!! How amazing!!! Great pics - thanks for sharing!! Take care

  7. Thank you so much for coming to see my mommy. She said to tell you that she took that photo over where our rose bushes are.

  8. I was not that impressed with the coldness - until you said you are in FLORIDA! Wow! I bet you will be glad to have it warm up!

  9. Wow! We never knew Florida got that cold! The ice does look pretty though.

  10. It looks very cold in Florida! Hope it warms up for you soon.

  11. That certainly gets the whiskers shivering!

  12. The pictures are beautiful, but yow! That's cold!

  13. We think the weather is crazy too!!! It is 10C (50F) in Nova Scotia!!!
We have been having high winds and rain :o Other parts of Canada have been having fierce snowstorms.
    This is crazy!!
We hope your weather gets back to normal. Oranges don't like cold :/

  14. Wow, that is something...'specially since you are in Florida!

  15. Oh noes! We feel so sorry for all of your trees, plants and fruit you grown down there. We hope it warms up quick.

  16. Florida???

Oh my Cod! That's just. . .unnatural!
