Lost

Firstly, Gracie is fine, but I have to say she gave us a real GOOD scare! The other day we received a big package which the mail carrier left at the front door (which is very unusual). So Dad went out the front door to retrieve it. About an hour or so later he went looking for all the kitties. Well he found Boo and Abby with Mom. He found Ping and Jinx on the back porch, but no Gracie. He looked and he looked and then he went and he got Mom. Mom and Dad looked and looked and called and called -- no Gracie. Then they were afraid that some how Dad missed seeing Gracie get out while he went out to get that package. So they got flash lights and went outside (because it was dark by this time) and looked all over and called and called. NO Gracie. Dad was getting really panicked by this time, but Mom just felt that Gracie was hiding some place real good. So, they started their search all over again in the house and called and called and we all meowed and meowed but NO Gracie. Then all of a sudden there she was just sitting there like a kitty with a canary. She never did tell us where she hid but she was safe and sound even if Dad nearly had a heart attack. Do you kitties play with your pawrents like that?

  3. Our mom can relate to your folks' heart attacks but we sure had to giggle a bit. Smidgen is the one especially to play that game here. often tho the reason mom can't find her is that she closed her in the laundry room or a closet, mol!

    Glad gracie is safe!

  6. It's a good way to keep the humans on their toes and to turn their hair white! Well done my dear!

  7. Oh, yes, I have done this before, giving my Mom many near heart attacks. Glad Gracie was fine.

  8. Heh heh, way to go, Gracie! Yep, we do that. Annie was really good at doing that and oh, yes, the mom would just about have a heart attack!

And sometimes Nicki tucks himself away out of sight in the garden and the mom can't see him, he blends in with all the mulch. She nearly has a freakin' panic attack, thinking he's somehow gotten over the fence. :-P

You just have to keep your beans on their toes, not let them become complacent!

  9. We're glad you're okay, Gracie! Delilah is the one that does that to our Mom. We live in an apartment building and Mom once knocked on every door on our floor and was panicking until she found Deli hours later asleep in a box full of shoes that was deep in a closet. Phew!

  10. Billy does this ALL the time - because when he doesn't show up for meals the mom freaks out and runs all ofur the house and then freaks out thinking that he ranned out like he ushually does, then she starts to cry and holler outside and by the time she comes back in he's sitting on the dining room table waiting for foods.

Gracie honey, almost gifing your daddy a heart attack is not funny! we is furry happy you were hiding and didn't go outside!

  14. In a word YES. And believe it or not, even Fenris can disappear in the house on them. We thinks beans are blind. I mean he just curls up in a corner and lays still and they completely miss seeing him and say stuff like I guess (name of bean) let Fenris out in the backyard and take the baby gate down so he can wonder all over the house in CAT TERRITORY, because they think he is outside. Socks & Artemisia are the best at appearing out of nowhere. And Scylla finds the most creative hiding spots.

  15. This is my biggest fear that one of the cats will slip out the door when we are not looking! Gracie sure gave you guys a scare. Casper does the same thing at my house and because he is deaf, there is no calling him out! I just have to search high and low then he apprears out of thin air!!!

  16. Oooh, what a skerry trick! My Mommeh has a treat jar that she shakes and give me treats when I come running. Now I run from ANYWHERE I am hiding when I hear that noise.

  17. Yep, normal here too! Almost the same thing, minus the package, happened last night. Sister Dolly was no where to be found. About the time panic set it, there she was. She's not telling either! Way to go silly Gracie, fun feline games!

  18. Sniffie used to do that all the time. One time she really did get out overnight and Mom was freaked out. After that, Mom always panicked when she couldn't find Sniffie.

  19. OMC that is my worst nightmare that Madi will get out when we have repairman. 99.9% of the time she finds a dark corner but there is allways that tiny percentage she might decide to explore.

Thank goodness Gracie was just hiding. I know your hearts were in your toes.

  20. Our brothers at the Bridge played that a lot! Right now, we live in a fairly small place, so it's not as fun. Good job, Miss Gracie - it's good to keep our parents on their toes! It also reminds them how much they love us. :)

  21. Oh my goodness i almost had a heart attack when mommy was reading this to me.

The other night I was with mommy in the den and my human brother came home and when he opened the door 2 of my fur brothers ran out. Then mommy couldn't find me and she panicked. I was under a blankie on the love seat and mom couldn't see me. It was dark outside and she thought I got out. She hollared and everyone in the house was looking for me. Then I heard a bell and I came running. Mommy almost started crying.
