Feral Friday

Gracie:
I have some sad news to share.
This week we had an accident happen here at the CATcasa.
Sometime overnight, this cute little juvenile raccoon was poking around Daddy's wood pile and he/she made something fall right on to his back. Daddy came inside to tell Mom when he found the little fella. He said he was hurt very bad, and he suspected he was paralyzed. Mom felt bad even taking his picture and she could see her presence (any human presence) was upsetting to him. So she only took this one picture. Dad called ACC and they came out and got him/her and we are sure that they humanely euthanized him/her. Later on ... Momma Raccoon came looking for her young'n.
If that doesn't break your heart nothing will............sigh.
There is no fairness in life for raccoons.

  18. You asked about our butterfly bush, well we has a confession. This is our second one. Back in 2007 Mommy got a purple one and it died not long after she got it and Mommy still doesn't know why. She was very hesitant to try again but she really wanted one for the butterfly garden. The pink one is surviving and until recently was looking good. But now the leaves are turning yellow, Mommy thinks it is stressed because of the heat 90's and the drought. Both of which she can not control. She has been watering it every day. Of course she may be over watering it.

  24. Aww, I am sorry to hear. I am glad someone took care of him.

Sometimes I have to be grateful that I did get rescued from The Wild, even though being grateful is not really in my nature.
