Abby's Journey -- Presence

For my girl.
I took this after 10PM last night because I wanted the
light of the candles to flicker gently over the sweet images of Abby.
It is a beautiful memorial.
I have ordered Abby a special urn that is being created just for her
by a talented potter. It will be placed with all of the things that I
find of special significance for me and Abby.
I hope Stella O'Houligan can see that Abby's quilt is what everything sits upon.
But I have angels and several inspirational Jim Shore pieces including a
beautiful carved cross. Of course Abby's pictures are here.

A gift of surprise from Abby.
Her pawprints all over my grill.
***
As I was finishing up ordering a memorial plaque for Abby to use in
a living garden I will create for her,  (Abby's Garden) I felt the rush of fur at
my feet, just now. I looked and there is no cat in the room except
Gracie who is in the windowsill as I type this. Abby spent many
of her last days and hours in a little box underneath my feet, so
she just rushed by me now. I am posting this today because I want
to preserve that memory. She is letting me know she is still here with me.
***
I love you
Abby
to the Moon,
girl
to the Moon
and back
again
and
again
and
again.

  10. Mom and I are so touched to learn others (like you and my Mom) have felt their angels come back to thank you for loving them and letting you know they are fine and love you for loving them.

There are truly angels among us....every time she hears this song by Alabama she smiles at gentle breezes and light touches.
    hugs Madi and Cecilia

  11. What a lovely memorial, and also a beautiful and pensive picture of Gracie below.
We can feel the very beginnings of peace on their way to you, as Abby helps you along the path. I think one of the hard parts of loss is what to do with all the love we had in our hearts for the one who left, and I think peace and balance begin to return when we realize we can still feel and direct that love in so many ways, to those still physically around us and, especially, still to the one who is in a different place now. We send you lots of purrs and love efurry day. XOXOXOXOXO

  16. Oh I believe she's still around visiting. That sweet, smart, sassy gal! I love the memorial altar and I bet she appreciates everything you're doing to honor her memory. The rituals are a soothing balm during the healing journey. Abby's garden will be special and evolve as gardens do. Big(((hug)))

  17. What a lovely memorial you have put together for Abby. I can see how deeply your love for her is imbedded in your heart and soul. That definitely was Abby brushing by your feet to say, "thank you," for giving her such a wonderful life and remembering and loving her with such unwavering devotion. Hugs, Janet

  19. I think creating a memorial garden is not only good for the memory of Abby, but also help for the living. We cannot wait to see it when it's finished.

  20. the fact that those pawprints turned up by "surprise" are NO coincidence. That was Abby my dear friend, letting you know that she will always be near you, she will always be watching over you

  21. We love your beautiful memorial to Abby. Every once in awhile, our mom feels the passing of fur on her legs too and we are nowhere in sight. She knows it's the spirit of her angels who have gone before us.

  22. That is a very beautiful memorial. I remember after my Maine Coon, Sadie passed our other cats would act strangely and stare intently at areas of the house even though there was nothing there that we could see. I believe our furbabies can make their presence known even after they have passed.
