Tuxie Toosday Memory

I just love this picture. It was one I had forgotten about until I started editing, or I should say reediting all of my photo files on Abby. There have been lots of tears shed but I find when I am working on her images I feel a peacefulness too. I have so much editing work ahead of me because I have so many photos of her. Not enough, no complaints on my part  -- I wish I could take a zillion more of her. So I had decided after doing a bit of research that the best way to store my images is to have hard copies of everything that I cherish. I already have cloud storage plus external storage and even extra external storage because well things fail. So now I will have physical hard copies as well. So I have quite an assortment of backups to my backups.
**
I know all of this may sound extreme but if you follow any professional or semi professional photographers you will know that storage options fail all the time so it's best to have back ups to all your back ups. I don't depend on an income for my photographs but they are as precious to me as anything I own. So, I am trying to preserve them based on problems other have had and learning from their mistakes.

**
Those precious little eyes peering over the top of the basket at me while I am taking her picture melts my heart even to this day. Hard to believe it was 7 years ago. If only I could go back in time...and I still think of the movie Somewhere In Time and wish it were true. We all want do overs on some things, even though it's not something we can ever have.

**
Just miss that furry face.
I know I always will.
Even though I carry her within my heart at all times.
I miss her daily presence.
**
Loving you Abby
to the Moon
and back.
again
and again and again.

  1. TBT here: Let the tears flow. Nothing cleanses the heart like tears. Bring all the memories to the surface and love them. After Skeeter, I know...

  3. Yes, we'd all like to have at least a few do-overs in our lives. Alas, that's not possible.

I don't print pics out anymore and I purged a lot of my photos some years ago (not of the cats, of other things). No regrets. I always remember that when I die, someone will have to go through all my "stuff" and throw it out. And even with that in mind, I still have far too much in this house. :-)

  5. My human always worries about her photos so she totally understands.

  6. Mum worries about our pictures and she always put them onto discs too as a back up but suddenly Mid September picasa would not let her do that. She has now backtracked and listed every picture that hasn't been published with the date of the week they were taken in and the picture number. She has also got them under her pictures listed each week.
    Progress it's not!

  7. Love those little white toesies. Our mom does scrapbooking, so a lot of our pictures are preserved in albums. Every kitty that goes to the Bridge has their own remembrance album too.

  8. Ces photos sont tellement précieuses qu'il faut des sauvegardes à plusieurs endroits.
J'ai aussi des copies de mes chats sur plusieurs supports.
    Cette photo est très belle.

  9. Thank you for this great advice...Mom has several years on a thumb drive but since we bought this new puter she hasn't moved in she better do that.

  10. I too keep several backups of all of my digital data, including photos. Looking back over the decades, I wish I had more photos of all of my dogs, my cats and of course, my family.

  14. I can certainly understand extra storage space for pictures. I have already lost a couple of batches for one reason or another. Makes me feel bad when that happens.

  15. We love Mark's Mews comment - so true.

I have backups to the backups too. Likewise I'm not making money out of these photos, they have trememdous sentimental value.

  16. That is a darling photo of your angel. She looks so serene and happy but with a hint of mischief. It's good to have backups of precious photos that can never be replaced.

  19. That is a great picture.

The mom has tons of pictures of us. They're backed up on an external harddrive and some flash drives. But she needs to look into cloud storage. Good advice!

  21. That is a precious photo. I have few photos of some of our kitties who were with us prior to the advent of digital photography. That makes me very sad, especially as one of those is one of my heart kitties, Thelma. Looks like you are doing an excellent job of never losing your photos, Debra. XO, Janet
