Annabelle's Antics: Cymric

After all of this time I had not considered Annabelle to be a what is thought of as a Cymric Manx.
I knew her fur was different.
But when researching Cymrics I actually saw several calico's who were so similar to her that I was astonished to realize that she would fall into that same category. All the more why it's so hard for me to understand how anyone could owner surrender. Unless of course it was because she does have the usual Manx related problem when you have to do occasional tushie baths. Probably more than you would for a normal kitty. I suppose and I'm sure my friends who are in feline Rescue would say one of the main reasons for owner surrender is bathroom issues. I am just glad I could give her a home, she is far too amazing to think otherwise.

  7. It's hard to believe anyone would surrender such a wonderful girl. Some people just want effort-free kitties, which is pretty unrealistic. We hope those people get ceramic statues!

  14. If I got rid of all my cats who needed their bums cleaned, or who wet where they shouldn't, I don't think I'd have a cat. Most of course have had problems rarely, but all have had them. Josie is too fat to clean herself properly, and Tucker had to have bits removed so he didn't have to.

When a person accepts responsibility for a pet, he accepts it for life. It won't always be fun, but it's part of the promise we make, if only by implication.

I'm glad Annabelle found her way to you.

  15. We are so glad that you gook Annabelle in especially if the people gave her up because she needed herself bathed every now and then. Anyway, we are so glad that the pretty lady has such a good home.

  19. We are just glad that someone foolishly gave Annabelle up so that the two of you could find each other :) I forget that they consider the Cymrics a separate breed now. We luv you sweet Annabelle!

  21. I don't understand any reasons for surrender-when I adopt, it is forever. Annabelle is such a sweetie, I am sure she is much happier with you than with whoever had her before.

  23. Mom had to look up Cymric as she'd never heard the term before. Mom says there are issues with almost any cat, and humans love them no matter what. We are really thankful for that 'cause some of us have BIG issues. Annabelle deserves all your love, and we are happy you are willing to give that to her. 24. We agree. She is a marvelous cat. Brofur Rumpy has a bit of a problem as he is a Rumpy American Bob-tail. Now he seems to be growing out of it so we are happily down to once every few weeks rather than a couple of times a week. He is even happier than Dad about this turn of affairs.
