#TBT

#tbt

***
This was from August 13, 2013.
Gracie and Ping joined me in the Dining Room.

***
This was the day after I had lost my Abby.
We were all lost. This was taken in our last Morning
with Abby in the house. Before we took
her on her final trip to the Vet .
It was a very hard morning.

***
Letting go
or
Holding on.
I don't know which is harder.

#misinggraceandabby

I did want to add one thing.
One thing the loss of Abby taught me.
She taught me when to let go.
With the loss of Gracie only 6 months
after Abby. I was able to see the
"mistakes" (if they can be called that)
I had made with Abby.
I didn't want to repeat them with Gracie.
Gracie was a far different cat too.
But, I firmly believe that losing
Abby gave me the insight into how to
see things far more clearer.
When you're confronted with this, no matter
what it is not an easy choice to make.

  7. What a sad time. This is a lovely picture of Gracie and Ping. I know you miss Abby and Gracie terribly.

Both are hard but love really does triumph.

  9. What a wonderful picture of Gracie and Ping. I think hanging on is only making the parting more difficult when you can't decide what to do. My eyes are full of tears now thinking of the ones that I have had to take to the vets and coming home with an empty carrier.

  10. The decision to let Tungsten go was easy because I knew she could not hold on much longer. Much of the time, she seemed fine. She responded to my touch, she purred, she yawned, she stretched, she watched the other cats. But she wouldn't eat, wouldn't drink; she was dying. The decision to let her go was easy. Living with it forever is hard.

  11. That is such a hard thing to do. to make the final decision. The worst is coming home to a house without that animal. But the kindest thing you can do is to let them go. You have a great day.

  12. I wasn't reading blogs back then. I didn't realize you had lost the 2 so close together- that must have been unbearable.

  13. It's nice when people can take something good out of something bad. So so very sad, but I know you have so many amazing memories.

  21. What a sweet photo. Deciding when to let go is always difficult. We can only do what we feel is right in that particular situation.
