Mancat Monday

Mom sorry I didn't mean to give you a near heart attack.

Backstory:
Ginger (outdoor cat) had decided she liked being fed
at the front of the house. So, I went out the front door,
(thought it was closed) and when I looked back,
I had 3 little faces in the front entryway, outside.
EEK!
I told them to go back in, ummmm you all know cats
really listen well, right?
Annabelle went back inside, but Ping & Jinx each went
different directions on each side of the house.
Funny thing was I stood there in my panic
ordering "Ping" back in the house and it was
Ginger who was rubbing herself against my legs.
They do look alike.
At any rate. I ran and got Jinx first who I figured
would be easier to get, and he was. Ping was
happily smelling the flowers in the front flower bed.
Thankfully he didn't run, so I got him too.
But, I was spent.
I have NOW made certain that the door is fully
closed when I go outside to feed Ginger.

  1. That was a scary moment! Something similar happened to my human a few years before I was born. For some reason, she doesn't remember now, the kitchen door was ajar, and she went over to check on it just in time to see Sparkle's tail disappearing out the door! She went over to see all three of the cats wandering down the walkway by the kitchen. Guess who was in the lead? BOODIE! Weirdly enough, my human just stood there and yelled, "You guys get back in here!" and they all obeyed. Even Binga.

  5. Any of us through the inside- cat -only years that walked out through an opening that wasn't;t supposed to be there about gave mom a heart AND panic attack. We live with woods..thick and tall, and I as well as any cat outside for the first time would be in danger. Mom has even had bad dreams about it.

  13. OMC, what a scary moment! We had something similar happen a few years ago. There was a sound suspiciously like the glider by the front walk, and when the head peep looked, Newton was jumping onto it while Ashton was halfway out the ajar screen door! Thankfully, Ashton ran back inside when she was startled by the head peep's language, and Newton got carried back inside, protesting the whole way.

  14. Geez, that must've been terrifying! So glad everyone is safely back inside where they belong! (True story: one day I ordered a neighbor kitty with a mouse hanging out of his mouth to "drop it!!!" He didn't listen either.)

  17. Geez, that would nearly kill me, too. Just one of mine would do it, never mind three. I sometimes see one of my lot at the screen by my 'patio' door, and think he or she's gotten out. None has yet, but I always worry. I'm glad all of yours were easily corralled. Wow, what a fright.

  18. We have a slippery one in Sawyer if the door is open even the tiniest crack. We are all happy that Ping and Jinx were so easily caught and deposited back in the house. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
