Stars

I've noticed that advertisers have started using cats in many commericals, or maybe it's simply me that has just begun to realize the number of animal commericals. Some of my favorites right now is the "Lion Sleeps Tonight" and the "Copycat" ad. Doing some research yesterday I came across a site that has multiple videos of about 20 different commericals which I had a great time chuckling over. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. My new favorite is The Cat Night Out and The Soccer ad. Both feature the same gorgeous tabby cat. Take a look and let me which one is your favorite. I think Abby could be groomed into a gorgeous new star, but I think she would need to advertise for something like Hummers. I can just see her sitting behind the wheel of a Hummer saying "c'mon...make my day"! My little baby has definite cattitude.

Speaking of favorites...it's already time to board the ARK to see all the starring cats, dogs and other critters. Then don't forget to see all the other glittering kitty stars over at the Carnival of the Stars..oops CATS being hosted this week by Watermark.

Lingering Reflections

Earlier this week I was driving down one of the busiest roads in our fair city when I noticed off to the right near the side of a road a black and white cat that lay dead. It struck me quite hard as this poor little creature had not been there very long. Tears fell from my eyes and I began to wonder what life this little cat had led, which got me to think about all those poor animals that are longing for a good meal and warm and safe place to call home. Those of us in the cat community do our best to care for all the homeless creatures we are aware of and it still isn't enough. It saddens me deeply and I have carried this image with me all week. I don't have any answers and I suppose that is why I still have these lingering feelings. What more can we do? Hug your little furry one today and say a prayer for those less fortunate. Give to your local no kill animal shelters or rescue group because they are really doing a great deal to help save as many abandoned animals as they can.

Changes

I am home today with the cats taking one of my vacation days from work. I awoke to a dramatic change in the weather. Yesterday we had a record of 92 degrees, I think right now it is only in the 70's with lows predicted for the 40's tonight. I guess fall has arrived to Florida's northen coast. Abby is happily asleep in my lap, snoring and purring at the same time. I didn't get to spend much time with her this weekend because it was taken up with other things, so today we will spend some quiet time together. Unfortnately because of other things that came up we couldn't stop by for too long over at Derby's party this weekend which we were sorry we missed. I know a good time was had by all, thank you Derby for honoring Boo! Please keep Sammy & Miles Mom, Mary in your thoughts and prayers. She is going in for an operation tomorrow, so a word of encouragement would be greatly appreciated by her I know. She is worried about leaving her two boys, so let's all drop by and snuggle with Sammy & Miles. Also please keep little Gracie in your prayers. The vet cannot pinpoint what is causing her to be ill. She is off to see a specialist today, I know her Mom is very worried.

*****
Snuggle up to your little furry one and just be thankful for the wonderful purrs of love that they give you each day.

Abby says: Sammy & Miles don't werry 'bout yur Mommie. She will be gone fur a few days but she will be back and then she will needs yu to take of her. I wills be furry happy to help wif yu wif the purrin. So when yur Mommie is feelin better I will teleport ofur.

Lingerie Party

Dear Gracie

I am unclear as to why you would want to take my bra and drag it all around the house. You should already be aware that it will not fit your body. If you want some lingerie of your own we will have to look into something that has multiples cups to fit you properly. So please do not take Momma's underwear and drag it all over the house.
Thank you.
Your Momma.

It's Friday again so that means it's time to go board The Ark and visit all the other critters from around the blogosphere, and don't forget this weekend to stop by the Carnival of the Cats being hosted this week by Catcall.

Lick Lick Lick

Abby is a groomer. When she sits in my lap she will groom me for an hour. But, she had an unfortunate accident before she came to live with us and her front canine was broken off. So I had the Vet remove it because it seemed like it was bothering her and causing her to have difficulties eating. Ever since her little bitty tongue will hang out of her mouth especially when she is grooming either me or herself. She is so cute when she stills there with that tongue peeking out of her mouth.

Blogger Problems

In the past few days I noticed a problem with not being able to view images on most Blogger sites. Then I discovered that my template has been moved around and I am not sure how to fix that. The last thing is that BlogRolling isn't updating. Here is possibly the reason that all of these things are happening. This article is PC World.

Google's Blogger Suffers Outage
Hackers and network problems plague blogging tool.Part 1 of a special five-part series. -->
Juan Carlos Perez, IDG News Service
Friday, October 13, 2006 07:00 AM PDT

After getting hacked this past weekend, Google's Blogger publishing service suffered an outage yesterday morning that kept both Blogger.com and the Blogspot hosting service offline for two hours.
A "network malfunction" caused the outage, Google said in a short note posted on
Blogger Status (a site where the company informs users about Blogger system issues).
No data was lost during the outage. "We know how important Blogger is to our users, so we take issues like this very seriously," a Google spokeswoman wrote via e-mail.
Prank Posting
On Saturday, a hacker broke into Google's main official blog, which is hosted on Blogger, and posted a false message saying that the company had decided to cancel a joint click-to-call advertising project with eBay.
By Sunday, Google had patched the bug and removed the posting. However, the prank message was widely noticed and triggered significant speculation and confusion among Google observers.
A
beta version of Blogger where Google is testing enhancements to the service went down for a while on Oct. 1, and on Sept. 28 the main Blogger platform experienced "sluggish" performance for several hours, according to Blogger Status.
Unacceptable Down Time
Mark Nolan began using Blogger to host a personal blog about soccer nearly two months ago, and is disappointed with the platform's reliability so far. "This isn't what you'd expect from an operation like Google. It's embarrassing in my opinion," Nolan said in a phone interview.
If the availability problems persist on Blogger, Nolan will consider switching the
blog to another platform.
Nolan, who lives in Manchester, U.K. and posts under the pseudonym James Ryddel in the soccer blog, hosts other Web sites he publishes with British providers.
Although all hosting providers experience down time, the Blogger situation is reaching unacceptable levels, said Nolan, who works as director of TXT Media. "Google should concentrate on improving Blogger's reliability and not on adding new features," Nolan said.
Service Upgrades
Google acquired Blogger in early 2003 when it bought Pyra Labs. At the time, Blogger was considered a leader of the blogging revolution. However, since then, Google has been criticized by some for being slow to enhance and
upgrade the pioneering service.
For example, Google is now testing features for Blogger such as the ability to categorize entries with labels and to control access to blogs that other services implemented long before. For a long time, Blogger lacked native image uploading, a feature widely available from competitors.
Loss of Staff
In the past two years, the Blogger team has lost several key figures, including Pyra Labs founder Evan Williams in October 2004, senior specialist Biz Stone in September 2005 and product manager Jason Goldman in August of this year. Williams later founded podcasting company Odeo, which later hired former Blogger staffer Stone.
Blogging's popularity continues unabated. Yahoo, Microsoft, AOL, Six Apart and others all offer competing services to Blogger. Blogging has also become an integral part of other online communication services, like the increasingly popular social networks.
Beyond its broad adoption among individuals, blogging has also been embraced by corporations as a useful tool to communicate with clients and partners.
Report Problems
Anyone who encounters technical difficulties with Blogger is encouraged to contact the Blogger support team through the service's
help center, Google's spokeswoman wrote.

Green Eggs and Ham

Boo watched as I went to the fridge and took out the package filled with her favorite ham. She saw that I took one slice out and put it down on a paper towel. I turned to put the rest of the ham back into it's pouch and before I could turn back around to feed her; here was my precious girl going to town on that slice of ham. Normally I hand feed it to her in very small bits, but she wasn't going to wait for her favorite delight. Enjoy BabyBoo.

Adventures Into Wonderland

Earlier this week I got to go into the dark room that is off limits to me at night. Momma opened the door at 1:30 am to let Boo come out (by the way Momma, why does she get to stay in there wif you and I don't?) and I was waiting. I knew my chance would come one day! So I popped through the door and started talking to Momma. When she got back into the thing wif all the cuddly blankets I hopped up on it wif her. BUT there was this strange loud wind machine blowing cold air on me. ICK! I didn't like that. I crawled up on top of Momma and she petted me and talked more to me,but I didn't like the wind machine. Then I heard the strangest noises coming out of Daddy. Wow he makes a lot of racket. I climbed all over him, but he didn't wake up, he was making too much noise, I guess. I climbed all through the nice cuddly blankets. Then I sat at the end, Momma asked me if I wanted to go back out to my nice cuddly blanket on the chair in the other room and I said yes, so she let me back out again. I was happy to go and get some more sleeps. So, I don't know if I want to try to go back in the dark room again. I will have to sleeps on it.

Once, Twice, Three Times A Lady

Boo on her favorite rug.
Just hangin out in the cat condo.
Looking every bit the lady she is.
Hidin in the closet.
Toy in paw on her favorite rug.
Laying on a pillow soaking up the warmth of the sun on the screened porch.
Boo doing her best exotic cat dance.
A room with a view.

One of her all time favorite places... a warm dryer.
Boo came to us in August of 2004, the Vet felt she was about 6 months old. So this is her birth month as best we can tell. We celebrate it...so Boo is now 3. Hard to believe that she's been with us over 2 years. She has really changed so much since she arrived. At first she was very remote and independent. Now she is openly loving and seeks out my attention, but only in a quiet undemanding way. She is never pushy or loud. She is calm, dignified and thoughtful. She is my little snugglebum every night and I can't imagine being without her. She is by all definitions of the word a lady.
Happy Purrday BabyBoo.

Georgia on my Mind

We just found out that our good furfriend and senior catizen Miss Georgia has a brain tumor, her Mom is awaiting blood results from the Vet. I know she would love to hear from you; please keep Miss Georgia and her fur sisters, Gemini and Cheysuli, and of course their MomBean in all of your purrayers.
