Our good friends PBJ

From our furfriends

We just got this wonderful award from our good friends at PB&J we would like to also "make up" our own rules and pass it along to all of our friends that come to visit us, because we LOVE all of your blogs and it makes our day to be able to visit with each and every one. We may not make it every day (because we got a slow Momma) but we try to at least make it as often as we can. We love all of you so much because we think we have the bestest blogosphere there is!

Boooooooooooooooooooooooo

Miss Boo says I was "BOO"ed by Jewelgirl!
Does your neighborhood have someone whostarts a BOO, or a fun Ghosting each year? This is very similar, unfortunately without candy. It's fun to sneak up on people and give them a littletreat! Here is how the Blogging Boo goes: Go to asmany friends as you want and tell them they'vebeen BOO-ED. Have them link back to your blog topick up their Halloween Treat and tell them to Bootheir friends. Then put the pic in your side bar soeveryone knows that you've already been BOO-ED.Please check and don't BOO someone who hasalready been hit, so this gets spread quickly andmore people can join in the fun
Miss Boo likes to snuggle on top of the "big chair" in the bedroom. She has learned a new trick. When she wants attention (or treats) she will pat me on the shoulder until she gets what she wants. She's such a sweet gentle girl that she always gets what she wants..

Thankful Thursday: Dewey

This weekend I had the luxury to dig into a book I recently acquired called Dewey: The Small Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron.
A few weeks ago on the CBS Sunday Morning show they did a segment on Dewey and Vicki Myron who was the librarian in the small town of Spencer, Iowa who was the first person to find Dewey. You see Dewey was dropped off into the library book drop box on one of the coldest days of the year in January of 1988. Dewey was not your ordinary cat, nope not at all, he was really special and unique cat. It was a fantastic book which I highly recommend if you enjoy reading cat books.
But the strange part about this was when I came to the part of story where Dewey dies. Now I know I'm not giving away to much of the story by saying that but it's important because in the book it comes suddenly and I was taken by surprised, so much so that I sat there and cried out loud like a little baby. Well, imagine my surprise when all of a sudden I heard my little baby girl call out to me and boom all of a sudden she jumped up into my lap and started purring and kneading me. Abby heard my cries and she came to soothe my pain. She has comforted me before but this time she wasn't anywhere near where I was and it was such a surprise to have her come from one side of the house to the other to comfort me.
*sigh*
Dewey wasn't the only extraordinary cat.
