Purrin and purrin,

Just wanted to let everyone know that my Grandadbean did really good with his surgery and they only had to keep him over night, so he is now home and resting comfortably.

Abby's Holiday Wish

Abby

I'm reminded of the passages of the family members I have lost and during this holiday season as we prepare for another Christmas without them -- sharing decorations, songs and traditions ; I'm reminded how many people are struggling this holiday season with heavy hearts that others don't see. That person who just "stole" your parking spot at the mall might have had eyes blurred by tears of homesickness. That person wandering aimlessly in the path of your progress at the store might be drifting in memories of loved ones and lost traditions. That flustered and frustrated mother of three in front of you in line might be crying on the inside for her own mother and trying to figure out how she's going to cook her first holiday dinner by herself. Or that person sitting next to you at work may have just come from the Vet's office where she had to say her final farewell to a dear life long companion.

***
Please extend peace this season. Warmth. Kindness. Understanding. Patience with your fellow humans and kitties .Rather than our rush, our busyness, our frustration and impatience, may we all find the time to share our joy this holiday with others.
From our hearts to yours, may you find the happiness and joy of the season blessing your family.
Merry Christmas to All!

Finally Friday: Mr Jinx Takes A Snooze

Our Mr Jinx is one big teddy bear of a kitty.
His needs are few, a nice comfy spot to rest his head and a big bowl of food every few hours. As you can imagine his food needs aren't met as frequently as his sleeps needs.
He is such a good cat.
He is a father figure to all the other cats, and even Abby allows Jinx to groom her.
But he does have a playful side to his purrsonality.
Occassionally he will get a wild hair up his tail and he will bedevil Ping in a mad game of chase.
Did I mention that he is such a good cat?
He has such soulful green eyes and he is a beautiful mix of grey tabby fur.
We love our Mr. Jinx and he is a real hero to our little tribe.
You see Jinx was the one who brought Ping and Boo to our house oh so many years ago.
He knew that he had found the place where they would all be safe after being so callously dumped by their former "nice" people.
And you know what?
Mr.Jinx was right.
They are safe.
They are home.
Forever.

Tattle TAILS Thursday

First off I want to say I got the wonderful snuggle from an auction I was the winner of and it is so nice...of course my Momma's brain is soooo addled she can't remember who the nice kitty was that made this came from...duhr.....sometimes I fink Momma is brain dead!
You can see how much I love it and just look behind me and you can see Ping trying to do a 'sneak attack' on me. But he knows not to mess with the AbbaDabba.

Ok I hafta to tell you kitties not to look if you are squeamish. Momma is embarrassin me now. She said she is gonna show you what a butt explosion looks like for me and for her. I tell ya now it's not pretty so be forewarned there are some graphic pictures below. Momma said I had a butt explosion this past Sunday night in the big bedroom while she was asleep. She woke up cuz she heard me and she found several poopiles that she had to clean up. *sigh* I'm sorry Momma you knows I didn't mean to be bad. Well she kisses me and still loves me, she knows it is not something I can control.

Don't look if you're squeamish!

First shot. Can you believe she got her camera out to take a picture of me. I am covered in poo and she is taking pictures...well the worst was about to come...

Do you know what she does? She grabs me and holds me underneath the tummy while my whittle pawsies is running and running but going nowhere and she gets what she calls 'baby wipes' and cleans me off. SHE cleans off my furrs! Oh the indignity of it all....I can't believe she took pictures....

Passages

Skeeter
Kelly

Cloud Chaser
* * *
Grief can destroy you--or focus you.
You can realize that every moment of it had more meaning than you dared to recognize at the time, so much meaning it scared you, so you just lived, just took for granted the love and laughter of each day, and didn't allow yourself to consider the sacredness of it. But when it's over and you're alone, you begin to see it wasn't just a moment here or there together, not just watching sunsets together, not just headbumps and purrs together or worrying over a high vet bills. It was everything, it was the why of life, every event and precious moment of it. The answer to the mystery of existence is the love you shared sometimes so imperfectly, and when the loss wakes you to the deepest beauty of it, to the sanctity of it, you can't get off your knees for a long time, you're driven to your knees not by the weight of the loss but by gratitude for what preceded the loss. And the ache is always there, but one day not the emptiness, because to nurture the emptiness, to take solace in it, is to disrespect the gift of life.
Goodbye for now our dear friends, may you all roam free of pain and earthly suffering
watch over and give guidance to all of us
and watch for us
when we all make our way to your doorstep.
purrs,
