Annabelle got right into the swing of things!

Boo was not so sure what to make of the mice.
I think this was a stand off!

Earlier this week, we got two packages in the mail!

Boy were we excited!

Annabelle: I'm sitting on top of one and guarding the other two!

Our friend FUR EVERYWHERE held a give away for

Lindy Company and we were delighted to win,

not 1, not 2, not even 3 but 4 bags of delicious treats.

Thank you Fur Everywhere!

About two weeks ago we recieved our Catbaret from  

Kitty Bungalow and it was chock full of assorted toys and treats!

This giveaway was held by Melissa's Mochas Mysteries & Meows.

Thank you Melissa, and we are sorry we somehow 

misplaced the information on thanking you and didn't until now.

Then just recently A Tonk's Tail held a giveaway 

for a CAT LADY BOX. Wow were we all super

excited over this! It did not disappoint.

Especially since our "bad" Mom forgot

Boo's birthday yesterday, she had a lot of fun

with all the excitement with the new packages to check out!

Miss Boo Went To The Vet

During the past week I noticed a dry cough that Boo was

exhibiting. It only lasted a few seconds & I only saw it

happen once off and on for a few days.

But it persisted.

Then to top it off I noticed her scooting on the carpet.

So, I knew she needed to visit the Vet.

So bloodwork, exam, xrays and one consult later

and we know that Boo is in the beginning stages of

heart disease. She is scheduled for an echocardiogram

next month to find out exactly what shape her heart is in.
That cough is probably related to Asthma.
A very very minor case.
It is not related at all to her heart.
We are awaiting the echo before any medication is added,
if any is needed.
Her respiration is super good. Less than 30 breaths a minute.

Oh yes, unfortunately much to her dignity being slapped 

in the face, she had to have her anal glands expressed

and they truly needed it. So to top off all the indignity

she will have to have that done more often.

So please keep her in your purrs & prayers.

Happy Gotchas!!!

Today is the day we celebrate the 11th Gotcha for 

Boo, Ping and Jinx.

It was 11 summers ago that someone dumped, abandoned

and threw away 3 awesome cats nearby my home. That
was the summer/fall we had 5 hurricanes and tropical
depressions impact our area.
Bonnie, Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne,
all between 8/12 and 9/26.
It was not a good time to be an outdoor cat in Florida.

After being dropped off,
Jinx led them to the closest house, which was mine.

The three of them stayed together with Jinx being the head cat.

A few days later we found Jinx and Boo

on the front porch sleeping in a chair.

Boo ran and hid because she was afraid,
(given what she'd seen of humans, who
could blame her?)
 but Jinx calmly stayed put.

He wanted to eat!

So food is what he got and immediately Boo came back
to get some of the groceries

and then guess who jumped out of the bushes?

Ping!

It took a few months but one by one each of them

convinced me to bring them inside.

Which is where they wanted to be from the beginning.

Ping did have wander lust for awhile, and we did allow

him outside time only during the daytime.

Until Christmas Eve of 2004 that is, when he didn't come 

home for 3 days.
Talk about being worried!

He got sick from being out in the cold,

and he was never allowed outside again.

They've been fantastic cats.

So each year as I always do I thank the person who

was didn't care enough for these three young cats,
you did unknowingly saved their lives.

You brought them to me.

I adore them and will always take care of them.

Perhaps you hoped that was what would happen.
I'd like to think that.
I'd like to think you didn't abandon them
to let them be harmed.

They weren't throw aways.

They are loved and well cared for.
