This afternoon around 2:00EST I noticed Gracie was not breathing normally. Fade to black, this is what started Abby's demise on July 28th last year. So, I was very well aware of the urgent need to seek medical attention when there is abnormal breathing. So I gathered her up and took her to the ER. The Vet that treated her is one of our Vets at the Practice we go to. So he knows me and has treated at least Abby, and I think he saw Jinx too. Anyway I felt a great sense of relief seeing him. From the xrays you can see that Gracie's lungs are very small, that is because there is so much fluid in her chest area. I did not take in every thing he told me except that he does suspect there is cancer. Now, I hope he is wrong, but right now that is the thing that is sticking out in my mind. Gracie is in grave condition right now and needs round the clock attention. They are planning on pulling some of that fluid out of her to give her some relief but also send it out for study to find out what it is. He is supposed to call me later tonight with results of the blood work and let me know who will be taking charge of her care tomorrow. It may be that the same Specialty Vet that has treated both Boo and Abby will also now be looking at Gracie.

I am beyond exhausted and my mind is just not absorbing information. I feel very afraid.
But Gracie needs your purrs and prayers.
She is the one I would have least expected to ever have anything wrong. But that's the way it is sometimes, the least expected, brings the most surprises.
