Operating A Treadmill

One of the things I promised myself was to get back into a regular exercise routine.
I had been really good up until mid-summer and I nearly stopped completely.
I felt terrible about it.
But...I didn't want to exercise.
The final week of December I told myself THAT is it.
I got back to doing my treadmill.
Abby decided to do the Treadmill with me.
As I was setting everything, she was on the platform sitting, watching me.
So, I slowly started the treadmill at .5mph.
At first she didn't know what to do, but then she started walking, but she noticed she wasn't going anywhere. So she walked a little faster, then she stopped and of course the treadmill took her on a little ride, but before she could fall off she started trotting again.
She did it 3 or 4 times.
Then she jumped off and watched me ramp it up.
My goal is 15-20 miles a week.
It's a very do"able" goal for me.
So far so good...and I feel so much better.

  1. That had to have been so funny to watch! It's cool that she didn't completely freak out. Good luck on your exercise - I could use it myself!

  2. Gemini sits on the handles of the treadmill so she doesn't have to walk and can be with the Woman! We think Abby is funny!

  3. Oh !!! Abby, You are a victim !
Thanks to post this , otherwise I can fall for my dad's plan : )

  4. Oh! You need to go to and do a search on treadmills and cats! There are LOADS of videos.

  5. Abby, how many miles are you walking each week? Congrats to your Mom for the discipline to exercise!

Padre, Panda Bear, Meerkat, Cookie, and Caramel (& fosters Sunny and Sky)

  6. WELL DONE you for getting back on the treadmill and giving yourself do-able goals!! I think if you enjoy the excercise then go for it!!! Good luck and keep going!!!

Awwww lovely Abby!!! You are so clever and good!! Me and Charlie are most impressed with your daring and adventurous spirit!! Yay!! Take care

  7. We don't have a treadmill at home, because the folks aren't motivated to do their exercise here. For some reason they prefer to spend money to go to another place and walk on the treadmill there. Go figure!

I would love to see a video of kitty-on-treadmill!

  8. My mommy says she has fallen victim to the same thing. She just didn't. No other words than the treadmill is there..well used.. but not for several months because she just didn't feel like it. So the day before yesterday, she fired it up again and did her weights afterward. Made her feel like a million dollars she said, simply because she DID do it. She didn't yesterday due to oldest son here (that's her excuse and she is sticking by it). So today later she hopes to continue.

  9. Sitting on the treadmill is ok but why walk on it - you don't go anywhere!!

  10. Abby is doing a good job getting you motivated.

  11. We would have loved to see Abby do a work out!
Our Mommy is waiting to get her surgery over with in Feb (Mommy's getting SPAYED!) and then back to working out again. She's been walking but that's all.

  12. Abby, what a good girl to coach your mom so well...I mean getting on the treadmill to demonstrate proper technique and stuff. Well done!

  13. How sweet to have Abby as your snoopervisor, mom!!!!!!! We will be cheering you on!!!

    Love to all of you.

  14. Good for you! Mom just started at the Gym and does the treadmill too!
You've gotta get a video of that cute Abby!!

  15. Congratulations on starting up your exercise routine again! That must have been so cute, watching Abby on the treadmill.

  16. My mum goes to da gym everyday and says it DOES makes her feel betters too.
But...ummmm...hers tried to put me on a treadmill...ain't happenin' again...evers!

  17. Uh oh, look out, sweet Abby. We tried that once and before we knew it we were riding in mid air! We thought Mom would get so scared for us, but do you know what she said? She said, "Where's the camera when you need it". Hrummpf, I'm calling the teamsterscatteryunion, yes I am.
We also wanted to tell you that we are so happy that you visit us. You are such a good friend. We will always be the same to you -- and we look alike!
Nose kisses and head bonks to all you guys from us guys over at our house :D

  18. Oh Dear; Don't let That Woman see this post or she'll remember she's got a treadmill thingy in her room (right now covered with bunch of sewing stuffs that's fun to lay on) and she will turn the scarrry thing on!

*but between u & me? SHE NEEDS TO!!!
