Be Prepared

Living in Florida, we learn to live with hurricane season. It is a sometime frightening and worrisome period. Last year our area had 4 brushes with downgraded hurricanes. Frances and Jeanne caused power outages and some minor damages, but otherwise we came out unscathed. At the time of those storms we only had Boo, Ping & Jinx. Since we are in a more active hurricane cycle, I have to be concerned about our safety and welfare and the well being and security of our kitties. If evacuated to a shelter animals are not allowed. We've decided that all 5 go with us NO matter what, and we've prepared for something which I hope never happens. We've determined if a CAT 3 or better heads our way, we will voluntarily evaculate and our cats will be right by our sides. This is our own kitty survival kit

IF YOU EVACUATE, TAKE YOUR PET!!!

Three-day supply of bottled water.
One-month supply of your pet’s regular medications.
Non-spill food and water bowls.

Leash.
Plastic bags (for pet waste disposal).

The rescue efforts for Katrina are being conducted for human life, and even then the rescuers are having to make difficult choices. My heart goes out to the tradegy of the situation, but I can't help but have concern for our fur friends who are also displaced. I hope everyone with give or donate to the relief efforts.
Charity see the need not the cause. Please give and give again.
