We both thought Ping was getting better, but he reality he isn't. So even though it's traumatic for him to go back to the Vet, that is where he is going today. He has continued to pull the fur off the ankle I am sure to soothe it. But it is only making it worse. Please keep Ping in your purrs today....
PING UPDATE:
The Vet said that they can't see him this afternoon( we were going to go after we got off work), the only other option they gave us was to drop him off (NOW) and that they would work him in. So his Daddy is rushing home to go get him (that's a 10 mile ride home and then another 15 mile ride to the VET and then he has to go back to work...) to drop him off and we are upset that they are being so unflexible since they told us to bring him back if there were problems. And they are saying he might not be ready when Ping's Daddy goes back after work to pick him up! We hate just leaving him there, he isn't going to understand and he hurts and he is going to think we are abandoning him...I think we are going to have to rethink our VET situation.
ANOTHER PING UPDATE:
We just heard from the Vet. It's not a break. Ping has been BIT! His ankle is infected ... oh I feel so bad that for two weeks now he has been hobbling on a foot that was growing infected each day. The Vet did X-Rays again just to be sure that he was healing OK and he is. But he has to take antibiotics orally. So, we can pick him up this afternoon and I know he will be glad to be home. No wonder he had pulled the fur off of his ankle. He was trying to heal it himself. Now I just wonder who bit him. His Daddy is blaming Abby, but she normally does not bother him at all during the day. The only time Abby is aggressive is if I am around and she is keeping the others away from me. I have a feeling it was done in play because all of the others will play and Gracie is kinda a tough little tomboy. I don't think anyone did anything that was meant to be this harmful. But, now we have our answer...thankfully. Thank you to Captain Jack's Mom for pointing out to us that it's a holiday week and that could have accounted for how buzy our Vet was. We had not considered that, in our worry over Ping, we just wanted him to be looked at and we've been on pins and needles this weekend as he just seemed to grow worse with each hour.
