Thoughtful Thursday
We were thinking the other day about blogging. Well to be precise we were thinking about bloggers. We began to wonder what happened to all of the bloggers that we've come to know over the years whose blogs haven't been updated in a long time. We miss them and wish we knew what happened. When we first began blogging there was no cat blogosphere, no RSS feeds, heck Blogger didn't even have a way to leave comments, you had to have a third application to put comments on a blog, and along the way so many wonderful cats (and their pawrents) have come and gone. Momma started this blog as a memory maker. She wanted to have a pictorial representation of what went on in our everyday lives. She is glad that she has kept at it on a fairly consistent basis. Sometimes blogging didn't fit into her schedule and sometimes she posted more than one post a day. We have been happy to have met so many wonderful fuzzies and non fuzzies along the way, but we do miss and wonder what happened to those who simply stopped posting. We miss you guys!!!

I've only been blogging for two years and there are some bloggers that have just disappeared. I also wonder about them. I don't want to remove them from my list in case they do post.
ReplyDeleteYeah~ Agree~
ReplyDeleteI haven't seem some bloggers for years~ Where are they?
I am so glad you are still here~!
Big Hugs!
Sadly life just gets in the way. There have been times when I haven't blogged for a week and then worry that I won't be able to get back into the swing of things.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad when friends leave
I also wonder why some bloggers just vanish. Sometimes they come back, but often they just go away.
ReplyDeleteWe've only been here a year, but we wonder too. We had some trouble with some of the blogs not showing up in our readers, so we've moved to a new reader, but I don't think we've gotten everyone moved yet... sometimes it's all too hard and we need to relax and nom some tunas. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe wonder about some bloggers too, and hope they're all right.
ReplyDeleteYou're looking beautiful today!
We wonder, too. If we ever decide to stop blogging, I think we would definitely do a post letting our friends know.
ReplyDeleteYep, I've wondered about so many too...we hope their paws just got tired and nothing is wrong.
ReplyDeleteVEry thoughtful Thursday indeed. Mom and I have only been blogging for a little over a year. During this time we've seen people come and go and some just leave their blogs there unattended. We've wondered too. I guess folks get burned out but it would be nice if they would just say 'hey we're going to take a bloggy vacation or hey we're all blogged out', Good thoughts Madi and mom
ReplyDeleteI've not been blogging for that long, started September 2008 (personal web sites for years before the blogs), but only found the CB back in Dec or Jan. I also think "life" gets in the way of it--it's a fun hobby, but people move, divorce, get sick, get new jobs, etc. and it can be difficult to maintain.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it would be nice, though, to know that former blog friends were doing well!
I remember having to create a google account just to leave a comment on a blog in 2007 and even then I thought it was such a complicated thing to do!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that blogs were even more cumbersome then!
But I'm so glad to be part of this blogsphere - especially the kitty/doggy ones- they're a joy to follow!!!!
I hope I never lose any of the blogs I follow - I'd be most upset!!!
Me and Charlie hope that your long lost bloggie friends return soon!
take care
x
This IS a thoughtful Thursday! We've been blogging less than a year, but we have blog friends on our reading list that haven't updated in months. It makes you wonder what happened. We hope they are all okay!
ReplyDeleteOh, I do wonder about some too. There was one particular lady that I communicated with who just all of a sudden stopped blogging, and I miss her posts.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you post as often as you do and keep your precious kitties before us.
This is a great post. I think Daisy has a good thought - to be sure to put a post up saying that you are going to stop, or pause, or whatever - cats and people really DO come to care about their blogosphere friends.
ReplyDeleteI know with some people blogs, Facebook has taken the place of blogging, or caused it to decrease. But for some cats, I have fears something has happened to their parent(s) who do their computer work for them.
Miss Boo is gorgeous with stunning green eyes!...We've only been blogging for 6 months as of yesterday and we have met such wonderful people through a shared love of animals...It is almost a full time job to keep up with comments and post everyday=our Mommy knows there will come a time when she will have to slow down and maybe do it part time, but we don't want to quit=it's addictive!!...Happy day sweet friends, we're so glad to have you all in our lives...kisses...Calle, Halle, Sukki
ReplyDeleteOnly today when we were choosing our Friday Flashback for tomorrow we stopped and re-read some comments and noticed several weren't blogging any more. Like Daisy, we wish they would just put up a quick post and say they are stopping. Although we only know each other through the CB, we think of everybody as our friends and when someone just stops, we worry that something has happened. We often wonder what happened to Dragonheart and Merlin who used to post most days, then after their Armistice post in 2008 they just stopped. We really hope that they and their family are all right.
ReplyDeleteOh Abby you want to come stay with us during the roofing? We kitties hate loud noises!! We'll be thinking of you sweetie.
ReplyDeleteI remember how much noise they made when they had to install our new heat pump/air conditioner....
Madi and Mom
We are blessed to have met you too!
ReplyDeleteWe get melancholy when we remember cats who are missing in the blogosphere.
Thank you for your purrs for Scooby. He has come out today and is looking much better!
We also wonder what happened to some of the bloggers. Sometimes we go and visit some and they haven't updated in a long time. We hope they are okay....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sisfur - we read your blog everyday. We blame DKM for not posting as much as she used to. She blames work, life and all kinds of stuff. We blame Facebook.
ReplyDeleteWe wonder too. I started my bloggie almost 2 years ago and sometimes mom slacks and it's hard for her to help me, but if we ever stopped, we'd let our furriends know so they wouldn't have to wonder...but I hope I get to keep posting becase my mom too wanted to keep a blog about our lives so she would have it for her own feeble memory!
