Gas prices here go up and down like a yo-yo. And three local gas stations were charged/convicted with oh, I forget the exact term, but they were calling each other and agreeing to what price to charge, several times a day. This was several years ago, apparently, though the conviction was recent. No jail time, of course, just huge fines.
Right now our gas is hovering at just under $1.30 per litre, which I think is about 25% more than what US residents pay for their gas, give or take.
My dad, who's in Delta, BC and close to the Washington border, often goes across to have lunch and fill up the tank. :-)
We're at $3.96 here - I"m taking bets as to how long it will be before we hit $4.00. Unfortunately in the states, we don't have that much public transportation so we're stuck having to drive and pay the price.
So far we aren't up that high, thank heavens but we are getting close. It is just horrible these high gas prices. Just sickening. Take care and have a super day.
$3.69 as of two days ago. Who knows now and Mariodacat has an excellent comment in regards to what they pay in Europe and Canada. We here in the US rarely have the public transport that other Countries do so we're forced to drive more.
Oh, if only! We filled up on our way home on Friday and diesel was £1.49 a litre which makes it over $10 for an imperial gallon. I believe that a US gallon is 7 pints compared to an imperial gallon being 8 pints which would make our fuel the equivalent of around $9 for a US gallon. Unless you live in the cities, our public transport system is not good! We live a mile from the nearest village where the buses run every hour at peak times then twice a day into the city at other times so we are reliant on our cars too. The governments all tell us to use public transport and leave our cars at home, but until they supply the transport, that is impossible.
The Human said she paid $4.49 a couple days ago. Sigh. I tell her she should stay home more and drive less. Think of the RC Kitten Kibble that money could buy!
