“Hope is the expectation that something outside of ourselves, something or someone external, is going to come to our rescue and we will live happily ever after.”
Brilliant quote and very true for most of us. I struggle with the lack of hope in my life, and having lived in despair for a long time (a bit less so now, with acceptance that this is all there is for me unless I somehow change my personality), I would have to agree with with Barb's comment.
Better to live with hope, though not false expectation, than to live in despair and hopelessness.
Hope is wonderful! But we "hope" you will forgive us if we trust better to our own positive actions.
ReplyDeleteThat picture is gorgeous - but then all of your pictures are gorgeous. You certainly are good with photography.
ReplyDeleteVibrant red and lovelt kight and shadows! Love it. And I would far prefer to live in hope than die in despair.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day!

We wish there were more people who would come to the rescue of animals so they could live happily ever after too.
ReplyDeleteWe wish peace, love, light and purrs for all beings in need.
ReplyDeleteLove your picture--it would make a pretty Christmas card ;-)
ReplyDeleteHumans would do well to realize that most of the time (not always, but often) they can rescue themselves!
That amaryllis is gorgeous! We didn't grow one this year, but we can enjoy yours.
ReplyDeleteWithout hope, life loses it's lustre.
