Abby is not a kitty that likes to play with toys.
By accident one day after she had *amen* taken care of some personal business, she started chasing a piece of puff on the floor.
So I cut a piece of string.
And the next day I laid it down for her after she did her personal business.
Lo and behold she started scrampering around after it.
She was like a kitten. And every day since I give her this small piece of string and she just goes to town.
AW! We love seeing Miss Abby being a kitten! And we love the third photo of her, her cute little expression and cute little no tail. Every kitty needs a special toy.
ReplyDeleteMy old Kitty loves her string too. She turns into her alterego "String-girl" every night at 10PM before we go to bed. She has to yawn exactly 3 times before she beings her attack on the string. Toby is 20 and has never really played with any other toys either. I got a big boot string for her after the vet told me tales of terror about all the zillions of kitties he has had to remove from kitties stomaches. Tell Abby to beware of the vicious string that can hop into her tummy - then the game is all over.Have you ever given her a twist tie from the bread bad and curled it around a pen. A few of my cats thought these were the best toy I ever gave them. Of course, you end up with hundreds of them under your refridgerator. Sometimes the cheapest things make the best toys.
ReplyDeleteThere's just something about *ahem* dropping those unwanted ounces in the box that makes kitties sooooo playful! Lighter than air and raring to play! MOL
ReplyDeleteOh, we DO see the string! Sorry we missed it at first.
ReplyDeleteThis is Abby... This is Abby on string! Looks like you found the toy she has been waiting for!
ReplyDeleteAbby looks so sweet playing with her string. Eric isn't much for playing either, but after he has performed in the litter box he gets the crazies and does three flat out circuits of all the rooms. Woe betide you if you are in his way!
ReplyDeleteIt's the little strings that mean a lot.
ReplyDeletesorry... couldn't resist. :)

Abby, we love that you've found something you enjoy playing with so much! Moosey is a big string fan, too, by the way. :)
ReplyDeleteOur Unca Caleb woulda died wifout emergency surgery cuz he ated LOTS of that string and it sliced up his innards. So mommy's furry careful to take it up after we play. BUT WE DIGRESS. String - even if it hasta be snoopervised by humans - is FUN!!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a simple little thing it is too, That is so cute to see. She maybe a senior, but has plenty of energy left in her to play some. Unfortunately, it's not that much fun in our house as we have carpeting everywhere.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh simple pleasures!
ReplyDeleteAbby, you are never too old to enjoy a happy childhood :)

You are having great good time yourself, aren't you. Abby~~
ReplyDeleteSimple toys are often best. Glad to know the string is supervised by mom for Safety since cats can't regurgitate ribbon or string if swallowed.
