It's the time of year that
this Cactus blooms.
Isn't it beautiful?
This particular plant belonged for years to my Grandmother.
It's in an antique (the pot must be from the 40's,
perhaps even the 30's) pot.
My Grandmother has been gone since 2002.
Boo keeps an ever watchful eye over all of the
comings and goings.
We hope everyone has a wonderful Winter garden!
Such a beautiful bloom, captured perfectly.
ReplyDeleteLove that profile of Boo.
As always, our garden is a drab, muddled hot mess! It would be worse if my human tried to do anything with it.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing bloom! And how wonderful to see this time of year when it is all dark and gray. Yes, we had the house lights on at 2:30 this afternoon because the sky was so dark.
ReplyDeleteHow marvelous that you have something living from your grandmother! Truly wonderful! What a blessing.
ReplyDeleteTwo words from an Emerson quote are "scatter joy." Those words have been used by many and if you Google, you'll get lots of business links, see lots of wonderful art work.
ReplyDeleteBut those two words, "scatter joy," are what your floral photos do, IMO. They certainly bring *me* joy, and even though I don't comment every time, I'm grateful for your posts.
Miss Boo the cactus is lovely but your profile is breathtaking.

ReplyDeleteboth pictures are breath taking!
ReplyDeleteI have a cactus the same as that which belonged to my mother in law. It had always been in her house from before I met Ivor so I know it is more than 45 years old. It flowers every year in mid to late November and stays in bloom until the New Year. This winter it was a bit earlier and barely made it to Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThat is an antique!! beautiful Boo xox
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a Christmas cactus? I used to have one in my room when I was in college and I just love them
