These are all from my iPhone.
I noticed after noontime that Abby was having problems with rapid breathing.
So at first I tried to see if I could get her to stop breathing so hard.
But, after about 15 minutes when she didn't I looked up online
about rapid breathing, and none of it suggests anything positive.
So I grabbed her and put her in the PTU.
She normally likes having the top open, so I let the top be open.
What did she do?
She crawled out and went to the back seat.
Then she crawled under the back seat.
I was worried how I was going to get her out of the car, but
that wasn't a problem at all.
As you can see she is in an oxygen enclosure.
She has an enlarged heart and a great deal of fluid around it and in her lungs.
She was so happy to see me.
She marked my hand like only she does and I tried to tell her
everything was going to be alright and I was doing everything in my power
to help her.
It was hard.
Leaving her.
She may have to stay overnight at the emergency Vet.
No matter what happens,
life
will
never
be
the
same.
Right now I am a hot mess
and this house feels so empty.
If you have any spare prayers
please
say them for my baby.
***
Abby,
I love you to the moon and back
again
and
again
and
again...

I have posts set to automatically run
and I won't change them
but I don't know
what is going to happen.
Because right now I feel like my world
has exploded and I am not handling it well.
***
I do want to mention that Boo has not
I do want to mention that Boo has not
had anymore vomiting, but her issues also have to be addressed.
***
The Emergency Vet is supposed to call me before she gets off
The Emergency Vet is supposed to call me before she gets off
around 6pm, so I should know something more and when I do
I will try my best to update with another post.

Please keep us in your prayers.
Purring like mad for you and Abby...we'll keep checking back.

ReplyDeleteOh, goodness. I'll be praying for sweet Abby and you, Momma. I've never had a cat in congestive heart failure but have had several dogs. Are they giving her anything (Lasix/something) to reduce the fuid in her lungs? Bless her heart... and Momma's, too. big hugs xoxo

Oh Miss Abby! I am so sorry to hear. We are purring hard for you right here and now because we know you are your Mum's baby girl and what with Miss Boo's health problems she is probably such a mess.
ReplyDeleteWe send healing vibes and purrayers for Abby, and strength for you.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I know what you're going through and I am so sorry. I adore senior kitties but as what happened with Lucy and Simba, they can start to have serious problems at the same time.
ReplyDeleteWe rescued a kitty several years ago that unfortunately had this similar issue although he also had multiple heart worms, which is apparently rare for kitties but he was outside on his own for many years. I truly hope all will be ok for Abby. I just recently read about people building their own oxygen chambers for their home so the kitty that needs it ongoing can have it at home. I hope she won't need that and I don't know anything else about it.
The loneliness is so hard. I'll be praying for Abby and you (Boo too).
We are purring like crazy for Abby and hope she will be okay. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteWe're purring so loudly for Abby, and for Boo... and you, too. We know it's incredibly stressful on you right now. Many purrs and hugs.
ReplyDeleteWe just read this post and are hoping there is already a later one to say she is better! We are purring our hardest and Mom sends a huge hug to you friend!!
ReplyDeleteWe're purring loud and hard for Abby. We know how hard this is for you. We hope the ER vet calls with good news.

I am so sorry that I didn't know about Abby before now. I promise I understand how you are feeling and I pray that Abby recovers. I know how unsure and sad you are and if I could I would be there to bolster you. But I am from here the best way I can. xxoo
ReplyDeleteOh noes! Teri says you are a good cat mom for catching Abby's breathing problems so fast and rushing her to the vet. Teri knows all about heart problems, having lost her special Bo kitty to HCM. He was very sick too, when he was 4 and he lived a good long life after his diagnosis, till he was 15...so we are purrin' for a good outcome for Dear Abby, too!

*hugs*
Sending tons of purrs for Abby to get better!
