Gracie has some of the loveliest markings.
She is a caramel mixed with black and gray.
She is a tiny girl with super soft fur.
No one ever sees Gracie because she is our
'fraidy cat.
No matter that she has lived the pampered
life for nearly 8 years she cannot forget those
early years outdoors as a feral.
I am colored a little like you Gracie. So maybe cats of our colors and prettiness are shy? Or maybe it's the name? Mama had a Gracie cat who was very shy too (she was a tiny tuxie).
ReplyDeleteHello handsome Ping! Do you protect pretty Grace?
Our Precious is much the same way. What a lovely girl she is, though. We wish we could kiss that pretty head! XOXO
ReplyDeleteAw, she is a lovely girl.
ReplyDeleteBoodie is our scaredy cat here. Sometimes humans who don't know any better think only two cats live here. And if they do not meet with my approval they think there is only Binga.
ReplyDeleteMy Gracie is a whole lot ascared of people she doesn't know, Gracie... She is a very good hider! I'm betting you are, too!
ReplyDeleteSweet Gracie!!! You are a precious and perfect sweetheart! take care

She certainly is gorgeous, and it's perfectly fine that she's still a "fraidy cat" after all these years. We all come with baggage--she's blessed to have wonderful loving humans now!
ReplyDeleteWe wish Gracie would feel less scared but if that's how she felt as a kitten it could be difficult for her to change now.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Hello pretty Gracie. Our Gracie scares easily too.
ReplyDeletemy stars girl your coat is FABulous...simply stunning....and trust me, I sooooo know where you are coming from with the whole fright issue...why I've lived ten years now and I've only interacted with three people...
ReplyDeleteshopping is totally way better anyway...want to go along !!
hugs from dai$y, we all hope everyone has a great weekend =^..*=
Gracie does have very beautiful markings. All the kitties here qualify as fraidy cats except for Miss Tutu (of course!) and Meow-Me.
ReplyDeleteGracie is so beautiful! We're sorry she's shy, but we are happy she lives there, and is so loved by you all. :)
ReplyDeleteGracie, you do have such lovely colors. We all know all about being outside as a feral kitty. It isn't much fun.We are just glad you have a great home now. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI am happy you took such a great picture so we can meet Gracie without making her uncomfortable. She is very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGracie doesn't look like a 'fraidy' cat, maybe just a little cautious and there ain't nothing wrong with that. Kisses and purrs....
ReplyDeleteGracie, your markings are very similar to our Ashton's, and she's a fraidy cat, too. Sometimes, the stuff that happens early on stays with you, doesn't it? We don't love you any less for it, though. Smooches.

ReplyDeleteGracie, beautiful girl, soft gentle kisses to you from my mommy. xxxxx
ReplyDeletetrès belle!
ReplyDeleteGracie is a beauty. It seems as if she has a reason to be afraid but you'd think she would have grown out of it by now. Our Fiona is our fraidy cat, and she has absolutely no reason to be. Have a great weekend. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteGracie is indeed a pretty lady cat. She looks just like my tabby, Toby, who I call my Cafe o'lait cat because I think she looks like a rich up of coffee just as the cream is swirled into it. Like Gracie, Toby had a very rough couple of years before someone brought her to a shelter. She was so sick, the shelter told me not to consider adopting her because they thought she would not live another day. Well, Toby just celebrated her 20th Gottchaversary last month. I know she trusts me more than anyone else in the World, but she still panics if I try to pick her up or hold her. Whatever crule or frightening things they lived though before we met them, all the love & care in the World cannot erase it completely. On the positive side, I think our tabby fraidy cats are super-smart because of how they lived on the streets & I am conviced they are so intuitive they know what we are going to do before we do ourselves. I try to think of them as being extremely cautious rather than a fraidy cat. As a mental health professional I know that many homeless animals have their own version of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and just like people who suffer from PTSD, animals can greatly improve over time, but that fear response will always be a part of them. You & Gracie were so lucky that you found each other. She is a beautiful girl & I am glad you were able to capture a bit of her soul in that photo too.
ReplyDeleteGracie is a gorgeous girl with the wisdom of the ages in her eyes.
ReplyDeleteWell for a fraidy cat, Gracie sure knows how to please the camera!!! She's beautiful.
