I think we all want to control something that scares us. But we can't. I know I'm not in control of the universe (haven’t been offered the job yet), and I’m not in control of anyone else. I think we all want to help sometimes, bu it's beyond our control. What are the options?
Melting.
Not melted as in “had a meltdown”, which sounds wonderful if you like melted foods but actually isn’t. I mean melted as in stopping trying to control, stopped trying to change, and instead softened and accept.
Melting.
We can stop trying to change people, and just melt into their presence, just notice who they really are, just appreciate it. We can stop complaining about our life circumstances, about our losses, about how the world is, and just melt into it.
Just accept. Just notice. Just appreciate.
Just be thankful.
So this Thanksgiving, I'm melting and giving thanks to things that are out of my control and trying to move beyond my fear of them.
There is a time to "accept". I won't say much beyond that. Only you know how you are feeling. But you will know a time to "remember" rather than "grieve".
ReplyDeleteI know.

PS love your leaf shot and the blog header!
It's true, you know. None of us can control anything but our own behaviour (and some can't even control THAT!) so it really is best to simply accept what we can't control and make peace with it. Makes like a whole lot easier. Don't you think?
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Nissy

ReplyDeleteThat's a good message for us all. Because I think until we "melt" and stop focusing on our fears, we aren't able to embrace what life has to teach us.
