#TBT

It's hard to realize that 7 years have passed by since you
had to leave for the Rainbow Bridge.
You were far too young, only 9 when you left.
But, my dearest Gracie I can only pray that you felt safe,
loved and cared for when you had been abandoned of all
places at the ACA front door step.
You always fit right in from the first moment you arrived
a mere month or so after Abby came. You were
totally an unexpected addition, but I am so glad you came
home with us that day.
I miss you with every inch of my heart and I so wish
I could have done something to make your stay here
with me longer. I still live with the shadow of thinking
YOU SHOULD STILL BE HERE.
But you're not.
Love you Gracie Grace.
Love you always,
Mom

  1. Aww, I didn't realize Gracie has been gone for so long... before I came around. Lots of purrs to you - I agree, she was not here for anywhere near long enough.

  2. I probably did know but had forgotten how young Gracie was when she passed. She knew she was loved, and her years with you were happy ones. (((hugs)))

  6. Losing them at a young age is a pain that never goes away, just with the unfairness of it all.

  7. Gracie was fortunate to have found her home with you. It was a brief life, but hopefully a life well lived and full of love. I also lost a kitty at a young age (not quite 9 years old) but I had her since kittenhood and know every moment of her live was filled with love. Losing her at such a young age made me appreciate every day I have with our other pets.

  8. Sending you hugs as you remember your sweet girl. I wish all cats were guaranteed at least 20 years with us, it still would not be long enough though. XO

  11. I've learned that the number of years in a life is less important than the amount of love and contentment. I have no doubt that, if put into an age, the love and safety Gracie felt would have made her a thousand years old.
