I've seen Mickey around the neighborhood very sporadically.
It's been several weeks.
I miss that sweet face.
He is such a character. I only hope someone
is treating him well.
His sister Maize has settled in to staying
predominantly in my yard. I have nearly
1 1/2 acres so it's not like it's a small plot.
Plus I have lots of brush around two sides of my
property to play and hide in.
I have occasional visits from Millie.
She is across the street from me.
She is as close to being feral as one can be.
She really distrusts people, and I can't
blame her, someone shot her with a BB when
she was only a few months old.
I wish she'd stay in the yard with Maizey.
And Mona, I haven't seen Mona since
last November. I hope someone took her in.
She was a loving cat.
And of course I miss my sweet Mina.
I'm so sorry your life was so short Mina.
It was unfair that someone put you out when
you were only a kitten and then you got pregnant
and...had four beautiful kittens.
You were a fine loving Mother.
You too were so scared of people.
At least you let me approach you
and pet you. I've trying to take care of your
kittens, and I feel like a failure.
There are just so many cats.
We all do the best we can.
I hope your 'kittens' will somehow let you know they are OK. ((( ♥ )))
ReplyDeleteI hope where ever Mickey is hanging out, he is happy. It's so hard having outside kitties you care about.
ReplyDeletePurrs Mickey is doing OK.
ReplyDeleteI know you worry anout outdoor cats.
Purrs, Julie
We're sending purrs too, and hope that Mickey is being taken care of elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteYou absolutely are doing the best for them. It doesn't lessen the concern or love, but we like to think that each Being's soul has its own journey through life and we can only do so much. Sending Light and Love. ♥
It's so hard when they just don't show up, we understand.
ReplyDeleteI hope someone took this cutie in. XO
ReplyDeletePurrs for the M family....they all should be as smart as Maize who is staying in your yard.
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
I am glad that Maize is staying safe. I hope Mickey does show up again or you hear of his whereabouts. It is so hard when they just disappear.
ReplyDeleteIt's worrisome when a neighborhood kitty doesn't make an appearance for a while. Hopefully Mickey is just enjoying someone else's yard.
ReplyDeleteYou're such an angel to these babies!
ReplyDeletePeople say having children makes you a captive of fate...but to those of us who love outdoor animals the same is true.
ReplyDeleteYou are not a failure. You said it...you do the best you can. These babies are doing what they want to do...but you have helped them in so many ways.
ReplyDeleteYou make a huge difference in these cats lives but living rough is so difficult for them. We wish them all well and you too
ReplyDeleteAs you write, we do the best we can, those of us who care; we can’t help them all, so we help who we can. These cats know they can go to you for help, if it’s needed. They trust you for that, and that’s an immense thing to them. That’s everything to a feral cat.

ReplyDeleteWe agree with everything you say, John Bellen. We pray that beautiful Mickey and his siblings who are missing are safe.
