I think this box was for me!
Well furfriends that Elsa was kinda of a
sizzlin fizzle.
The east quadrant of a storm holds the
most punch, we were in that quadrant.
We had a boatload of rain dumped on us.
That was on top of nearly every day
since June 1st of rain.
To say we were saturated before Elsa
was an understatement.
Then it spawned tornadoes.
Several hit in FL/GA. For those who
don't know Jacksonville basically sits
on the FL/GA border.
Our perspective was put into place when
we saw what those tornadoes did to
homeowners. We were just dealing with
oversaturated grounds and water in the
garage. Couldn't keep it out until the rain
stopped. But, I'd chose the water in the
garage over NO garage.
Overall the leadup to what kind of storm
we would have was mischaracterized.
These media types need to be less hyped,
and I have to say I was shocked at some
of the stuff coming out from NHC. I follow
all of that each year real close, and
well I was disappointed in what was pushed
out to local weather people.
Just sayin'
Overall, Elsa was just a mess for everyone
who has been in her track and she is
going all the way to Canada.
Stay safe everyone!
Flooding is bad, but I am glad you didn't get hit by the tornadoes. I have a friend who lives in Jacksonville Beach. I hope she is okay too.
ReplyDeleteI am happy that you got through Elsa without too much issue.
ReplyDeleteReally good that you did not get tornados. Mum says they are really destructive though we have never experienced one.
Elsa will be passing by us tonight so we will get more rain.

I'm glad all you got was too much rain - as you mentioned, it could have been much worse!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are OK. The news media always like to hype things up so we keep watching.
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to keep things in perspective. She passed by New England yesterday but we only got 1/2" of rain. Hope the tropics stay nice and quiet for awhile now, if not the rest of the season!
ReplyDeleteI’m glad that all you got is a bunch of rain even if you didn’t need it.
ReplyDeleteWet, but still intact. You're right, Annabelle: that's not bad.
ReplyDeleteGlad you all got through ok !
ReplyDeletePhew! Hope those who had tornado damage can get things back up soon.
