1/1/?? - 11/3/21
Dear Jinx,
This is how I want to remember you.
Strong,
healthy,
a big lovable teddy bear, like 16 pounds lovable.
***
Yesterday I had to make that call none of us wants to make.
Mr Jinx went on his final vet visit, and oh my
even in the state he was in,
he let me know how unhappy this
made him.
***
I haven't spoken much about Mr Jinx's health
struggles, and now it doesn't really matter.
He let me know yesterday he was tired of fighting.
I was going to let him dictate to me when he
wanted to call it, and on Tuesday he
began giving me signs. By Wednesday, it was
clear, even though I didn't want to hear it.
***
As time goes on I will do more tributes to him,
he was just a good cat.
A great cat
***.
You ran your final race
and you made it to the finish line.
I hope your Dad gave you a big hug
when you got there.
***
I'll miss you
and for all my failings I hope you forgive me,
things haven't been easy for me or you
the last year.
love you always,
Mom

ReplyDeleteOh no. I knew Mr Jinx's health was precarious lately, but I was hoping it was a long and easy time for him, no discomfort or pain. But it gets to be too much for us all eventually. It sounds like Jinx was much like my Parker was when he made his final journey to the vet. Your boy had a strong personality. Godspeed, Mr Jinx, and watch over your family.
