My energy has been taken up by all the ups and downs with
Annabelle and her problems with her teeth, that even
though I could see there was something wrong with Mazie.
I just didn't have the bandwidth to deal with it.
Don't even let me mention how bad it made me feel.
***
Yesterday late in the day she showed up again.
Finally things have lighten a bit with Annabelle,
and I was hit with panic with Mazie.
***
Not even sure I could get her seen but I did.
Wondering how the bills will get paid and
really not knowing or being able to do much beyond
what I did yesterday with her.
***
At least in part the culprit is an ulcer on the back
of her throat which explains why she has been unable to eat.
She has lost quite a bit of weight.
She is not going to let me give her any more meds.
She probably isn't going to even let me see her.
***
The Vet said it would be best to keep her inside.
So I do have a workshop
and I put her in there and haven't seen her since.
The food is left unattended.
It's soft mushy lickable foods.
I got a grocery store of stuff trying anything on
Annabelle.
*sigh*
I'm worn out and broke.
I've done all I can.
I have to give myself some space.
I admit there are too many cats here for me to
care for and I don't know what to do about that.
***
I just do the best I can.
And sometimes it breaks your heart.

Mum's mum had a saying, 'Do your best and leave the rest...angels do no more'
ReplyDeleteYou have done your best. Are there any rescue groups in your area that can help?
Purrs, Julie and mum
Purrs from us too. We REALLY like that expression Julie and her mum posted. There's only so much we can do, as mere humans. Take a breath and trust that whatever is meant to be, will be--even if it's not what you would have wanted. Sending Light and hugs.
ReplyDeleteI hope Mazie will start eating. I will add her to my prayer list. If you have a paypal let me know and I can help spread the word that you need some help. XO

ReplyDeleteI am sorry you are having such a hard time. It is because you care so much that it is wearing you down. You are doing your best and no more can be asked of you. Please let me know if I can help.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is heartbreaking, we can only do what we can do. We feel for our ferals when they are unwell and there is nothing to be done.
ReplyDeletePurrs and love to both of you. When it rains, it pours :(
ReplyDeleteSending you hugs and prayers that you will find the resources needed to care for all your fur babies. It is hard when you have multiple cats to care for. I know you are a loving person and do the best you can for them.
ReplyDeleteDearest Abby's mum, sorry for how hard things are for you at the moment caring for these needy babies. Sending our love and purrayers. Yoo are wonderful and are doing your best and that is all anyone can do.
ReplyDeleteAs already everyone else as said...you ARE doing your best, and Nancy at the top said it best.
ReplyDeleteWe are adding our pawyers and sending our best POTP.
Maizie, try and eat even a wee bit, Please! YOu are very loved, by your 'mom' and by all of us.
I think I can understand how you are pressed down and unable to move under all of this. Nancy did say it well, the first coment. Do your best and leave the rest...Angels do no more. That is incredibly hard to do though. Hugs and love.
ReplyDeleteFriskies makes a gravy that is for cats, and even KMR might help. I have one right now with an ulcer on his tongue (he has herpes) . Sending purrayers and Power of the Paw . There are groups that help pay vet bills. If I can find the links I will post them.

ReplyDeleteI just googled "help for veterinary bills" and got several hits but a lot are by region. This seemed a good overview.
You are doing wonderfully. You can do this. It doesn't need to be done all at once. Is Mazie in pain?
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you are going through this, and Mazie too. Annabelle is a good, basically healthy girl, and I'm sure she will get much better soon, but I'm sending all of you purrs.
