This is a sobering thought to consider. But; it is wiser to be aware of the developments and be very careful with our beloved felines. It is worth noting that any outdoor cat may( and I emphasis MAY) become infected if avian flu reaches our shores and I for one would hate to see the destruction of any animal because of fear spreading among people about exposure of this virus into cats. Everyone please be mindful of the possibilities.

A bird flu virus killed 26 people in Asia and led to the vast slaughter of poultry several months ago. Now a new study says the flu can also infect cats, and that cats can spread the flu to other cats. The finding raises the possibility that they may eventually spread the flu to other mammals, including humans.
