Gracie does not like the camera at all.
She is grimacing in this shot because I had to use the flash.
She is still semi-feral and her Dad and I shutter at what she must have been exposed to before she "adopted" us. We don't believe people were very nice to her. Although in her heart of hearts Gracie is a 'people pleaser'. She is such a sweet natured girl.
The only people she will allow around her is Mom and Dad. She runs if anyone else comes in and hides.
She's now five and I don't think her behavior is going to change all that much. She is such a angelic little girl I wish she felt more secure.
But she has begun to let us pick her up and she will sit in laps, sometimes for hours. Most of the time only for moments, but it's still progress.
Slow and steady we'll do our best to tackle that insecurity!

Oh Gracie, Powder knows how you feel.
ReplyDeleteBut having the love of Mom and Dad is great, isn't it?
We will send Gracie comforting vibes for her to feel more secure. Reminds us of Maggie May. Wish there was a way to make them feel completely secure and not so skiddish!
ReplyDeleteHi Gracie you are quite lovely and we appreciate your tolerance of the flashy beast so that we could see you. Madi and Mom
