Mom could only grab her shoot and go camera
when she saw me lying on the floor
with the light hitting me making me
appear golden.
So she didn't get the true pictures she wanted
but close enough.
I am her true Golden Boy.

Mom is getting kind sad about losing Google Reader.
We have gotten both Feedly and
Bloglovin.
We don't feel either of these will be as easy
to use as the GR was.
We are sad that Google is taking away
the things we have come to enjoy.
Like the GR.
Perhaps Picasa.
Who knows is blogger on the chopping block?
Technology is great and all.
but sometimes the good old things
well they're good for a reason.
Just sayin....

What is your choice if you use GR?
We've gone to feedly. It's not ideal but okay for reading blogs.
ReplyDeleteYou and look purrfect handsome golden Ping!
My Human is so uncool she just has a giant list of bookmarked blogs that she arranged in sort-of-alphabetical order, so we just click on them and comment on the blogs that commented to us, and sometimes some extras too. She is VERY haphazard. But she does know about how things keep changing all the time and it just drivers her CRAZY. She liked gmail the way it was BEFORE!!!
ReplyDeleteI am using Feedly - it is not the best, but it is the one that is easiest to use in the way I was using Google Reader. I keep hearing about The Old Reader (that is what it is called), but haven't really given it a try.
ReplyDeleteYou truly are a handsome Golden boy, Ping!
ReplyDeleteI never used Google Reader so have no idea what I'm missing. I'm now on Feedly and it works fine for me (since I have nothing to compare it to).
That's a stunning photo, just glorious.
ReplyDeleteWe're using Feedly. Don't like it as much as GR, but we're getting used to it.
Gorgeous Golden Boy! I only use my iPhone anymore. I've retired my Canon. I thought about getting a new DSLR for when I travel but in the end, I couldnt see spending that much for what I mostly use my camera for. Y'all.
ReplyDeleteI had no problem migrating over to feedly. They're all free so I just kepp on a'doin'. I do have business blogs on 2 other blogging platforms. One is wordpress (free) and the other is Squarespace (not free). I use to have my blogs on the worpress.org (more complicated) plus of course, I have my business web site with a paid host. Once you figure them out it all becomes second nature. I like and dislike some things about each of them. Plus, I like to kick start my brain into learning something new every now and then. :D
Awwww Mr Ping!! You are glowing golden and gorgeous!! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh we hope hope hope Google doesn't get rid of blogger! :-(
Take care
x
this is not only a calendar material ping, but also poster caliber shot. you are one handsome golden dude.
ReplyDeleteour mama doesn't use reader, but she knows people who does.
emma and buster
We hope Google isn't going to get rid of blogger - Mum has a list of blogs we visit regularly and is hoping she can use that some (or most) of the time. She has started to get the email feed for blogs but then has to keep checking to see if there is anything new in the emails.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Oh Ping you are a golden boy in every way. Thanks for the bird update. Maybe raccoons?
ReplyDeleteMommy does that when my furs look red in the sun!
ReplyDeleteHello handsome Ping! We hate to lose Google Reader too and we have not found anything we really like either.

ReplyDeletePing, you definitely are a golden boy in that sun puddle. We think the photo is exquisite and your mom was smart to get it before you moved. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
ReplyDeleteVery handsome picture, Ping.
ReplyDeleteWe just use the Dashboard part of Blogger and the reading list in it. Works fine. We haven't changed.
I use feedly but I too miss GR.
ReplyDeletePing, you are golden !!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen we follow a blog we go to our reading list on the Dashboard and add the URL. That gives us updates when a blog we follow is published. Is that Google Reader?
I an with you, I wish Google would just leave things as they are!
We hope Blogger does not go as we like the "story" format. We do not want to use FB, as it is more instant and we like the story telling better. With Blogger you can post in advance. Also I do not have the time for all the instant media. I don't know how all this will play out.
Purrs Tillie and Georgia,
Treasure,Tiger,JJ and Julie
You look handsomely golden in the sun Ping. We haven't changed yet and know we have to do so in the next few days. We are going to try Old Reader (nothing to do with google reader) because it has had some good reviews.
ReplyDeletewe guess we will use feedly. we used to use spokeo and it was really good for a while but then it stopped updating so we went to google reader.
ReplyDeletepurrs n nosekissies to mine gorgeous sweet tuxie angel princess Abby
your adoring floofy cocoapuff meezerman Sammy
I'm hoping they still show our blogs on the Dashboard, which is where I usually read them. If they don't, I'm in trouble and totally unprepared. Yikes! That is one gorgeous picture.
ReplyDeleteGoogle isn't on the chopping block. I heard from a Google Rep at BlogPaws to "stay tuned" for a new product which will take the place of GR....soooo....stay tuned!
ReplyDeleteLove the "Golden Boy" photos!
Ping, you are truly a golden boy! Our mom wishes they get rid of Google+. What a PIA!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture of you, Ping. We're sad about Google Reader going away too. We've tried Feedly and Bloglovin and while neither are as good as GR, we like Feedly better.
ReplyDeleteWe do not use GR, we like to receive notifications by email.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you'll find something good to replace it!
Purrs
Ping!! You are gold for sure!! I bet my foster brofur Leo would look like that color in just the right sun puddle. And I only follow by email. I did not ever like GR so have not bothered with Blog Lovin' etc.
