Boo has taken up residence in the chair that Abby used on the back screened in porch. The left picture of Abby was taken only a few days before she fell ill. You can see I have not moved the throw or pillow, there is still a sameness to the setting which I have not been able to change. I still find I am unable to go out on the back porch like I have in the past. I used to enjoy being out there with the cats even on warm days. But it is where I found Abby in the midst of a CHF attack on July 28th,and there are still has too many memories I cannot face. The first time I caught a glimpse of Boo in this chair all I could see out the door was a black back and for just that one second I thought "Abby", or course you know it wasn't and I knew instantly it was Boo. That was many weeks ago, and since I have grown accustomed to seeing Boo curled up in the same sun filled chair that Abby so loved, especially in these last few warm months. So, I'm glad Boo is able to enjoy the same sun drenched warmth that Abby once did.I am glad that another Tuxedo kitty is filling that spot, even as I miss my Abby girl, time marches forward. I notice now a crispness in the night breeze, even here in Florida and soon Fall will make it's way to Winter. Placing more distance between. Time does soften a loss, but it will always live within you. There will always be a longing....for what once was and cannot ever be again.
It's nice that Boo enjoys that spot. You must take great comfort in that fact.
ReplyDeleteWe actually didn't realize how much they resemble each other. I'm sure you often think you see her when it's actually Boo. Sending ((hugs)) and whisker kisses.
I'm glad Boo took over Abby's old spot - it sounds like a nice, sunny place.
ReplyDeleteThe days change and, slowly, things change. One day that ache of emptiness will be filled by new fond memories and new special times that you will love to love again.
ReplyDeletebig hugs xoxo
It's nice to see Boo enjoying the spot, though we certainly understand that you're not able to sit out there right now. Perhaps that will change, in due time. (((Hugs)))
ReplyDeleteIt's understandable that you saw Boo out there and thought of Abby. It's nice that Boo is getting some time in the best seat in the house now.
ReplyDeleteIt is good that Boo is able to enjoy Abby's favourite spot. I find that Flynn is more and more using the spots that Eric used to love.
ReplyDeleteI think it's so nice that Boo is enjoying that spot, which must be a lovely spot for a kitty. It's understandable that the porch is a difficult place for you, but hopefully that will soften with more time. I hope Boo and the other kitties can fill your heart with more good memories. Your two tuxie girls are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWe know Miss Boo can feel that Angel Abby and that helps the Easy be a little more easy.
ReplyDeleteBoo is trying in her own way to offer comfort....
ReplyDeleteHugs all around Madi and Mom
It's reassuring to know about Boo can now enjoy the special spot.
ReplyDeleteThey say time heals all wounds. Heals...but doesn't take them away. We hope one day you'll be able to spend time on the porch again...
ReplyDeleteYes, time does ease loss, thankfully.... And we're so glad boo is enjoying Abby's spot.
ReplyDeleteIt's strange how one will take over the duties or favorites of one who has gone. The same has happened here.
ReplyDeleteI have seen that happen, that which Jan has just mentioned. It is the healing of time and the scars grow less livid as time passes on although our heart will always remain bereft.
ReplyDeleteIt is so lovely that Boo can do that! The memories shall grow sweeter x0x

Mebbe it will become a comfortable thing some day to see the spot used anew.
ReplyDeleteWe are glad Boo has made it to Abby's chair. Eventually you will get accustomed to seeing Boo there which should help to soften the loss of Abby just a little bit more. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
