A few months ago I showed you a game Abby and I used to play with a piece of string attached to a door knob. I don't recall how this particular game came about but I had a little piece of string that came on a package one day, and I suppose I just threw it down on the floor to see what would happen.
The area Abby and I are in is the laundry room, which Abby would always follow me into each morning as I cleaned out the litter boxes.
So I dropped the string on the floor and I do recall she grabbed it and her feet could not gain traction on the linoleum. So imagine if you well flying cat feet!
And so it would end, as quickly as it began she would stop. She was never interested in eating it just in it moving around on the floor. She just wanted it to scoot along the floor so she could chase it. It was so cute to watch because I think I've mentioned she wasn't a cat who liked toys. So finding this was a special joy. I saved the string and every time I go get the mail or clean the litter boxes, I would drop it down on the floor for her to play with and she would go at it for a minute or so. I could dangle it and she would nab it out of my hand too.

I miss playing with you Abby.
I miss everything about you.
I am so grateful for all the wonderful memories we had.
Very grateful.
I am thankful you were with me for the time we had together.
And I always will be.
I am sad,but I am healing.
But, there will never be a day I do not miss you little one.

I love you to the Moon and back
again and again and again.
Forever Abby.

We're so glad to see you sharing these happy memories of Abby. Strings sound like they were the toy that "pushed her button."
ReplyDeletestring, a box, a bottle cap... amazing how much money we spend on toys but what they truly enjoy is totally free!
ReplyDeletebig hugs xoxo
Sending you hugs.. I know how much you miss that sweet girl...
ReplyDeleteSeeing pictures of her tailless tushy made me smile / cry... Reminds me so much of Alex. I know both our tailless wonders are now playing together..
The string game is a great one. Derry loves string too, but no one could match Chumley for being into string.
ReplyDeleteHealing can be such a slow, roller coaster process...Keeping you (all) in our thoughts and purrayers!
We love string games too - they are great if you are on your own or with a sibling or two. We're pleased to hear that Abby liked to play with string too.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
What a wonderful memory and great pictures. Abby seems to play so well by herself. (Not me - I need to be entertained). What a cutie Abby was.
ReplyDeleteFun memories are just the best! Have a great weekend dear friends!
ReplyDeleteYou were lucky she didn't ever eat it. That could be a problem. My furrend Katie needed immediate surgery for it.
ReplyDeleteAbby was such a comical little girl and I just love her little tushy!!

ReplyDeleteA piece of string is all a kitty needs for seconds of fun!! MOL so sweet xox
ReplyDeleteTo a cat, everything is a toy. Bag ties are a popular toy at our house as well as bottle caps and corks. Too bad no one has figured out how to infuse those items with some catnip. Thanks for sharing these lovely B&W photos of Abby. It appears and sounds as if she really enjoyed her string.
