Tell your heart that the fear of
suffering is worse than the
suffering itself. And that no
heart has ever suffered when it
goes in search of a dream.
-The Alchemist-
Well, my human is not so sure about the last part! She's suffered lots in pursuit of her dreams. Although perhaps not as much as if she hadn't followed them.
This is an interesting one. It holds true for some things -- like worry over sick kitties who may not be as sick as they look -- but not others. We'll have to ponder it. Good food for thought!
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when ... it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." - Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear
Totally do agree.

ReplyDeleteI actually don't agree with this one, the actually suffering can be much, much worse. Or so has been my experience.
ReplyDeleteFrom one of the favourite books in our house:)

ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful quote! Mom gets herself all worked up about things that, very often, don't amount to anything.

Beautiful. Has a lot of meaning if you stop and think about it.

ReplyDeleteI loved The Alchemist! It's been a few years, I should read it again.
ReplyDeleteWe sure agree with this statement. Good one. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteLovely! We hope your heart is not suffering, and truly fear of reality is more painful than reality itself.
ReplyDeleteUsually true, but sometimes the suffering is far worse than the fear of it.
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd so true.
