Do the memories exist because we have proof,
or do we remember without it?
***
I can't lay claim to remembering every single day
we shared and that is why the proof of photographs
are so special.
When I see this, I remember.
I remember none of the cats liked the cat cups
very much. When I would first put them out they
would investigate them and then leave them be.
But I can tell you this sums up Abby's personality so well.
She was always high on alert at the slightest thing.
I don't know what it was that truly caught
her attention, probably Boo.
But I can recall thinking how adorable she looked,
and how small she was in this standard size cat cup.
Miss you Abby.

I am glad you have lots of photos of Abby. I wish I had more of Wizard.

ReplyDeleteLes souvenirs sont présents dans le cœur.

ReplyDeleteYes, when we lose a loved furry, memories are so important.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the memories come unbidden, at times even unwanted because they are painful. But they remain with us, somewhere inside.

ReplyDeletePhotos are very important to, they do trigger memories. XO
ReplyDeleteEven if we don't remember every moment, the heart always remembers.
ReplyDeleteThis is a question I pose to myself often. In fact, probably 20 years ago, I wrote a poem, entitled, "I Remember My Life in Photographs." I find when I think back at most events, a photograph if that time is what comes to mind. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
ReplyDeletePhotos just enhance the memories that we will always have.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you that you have pictures to see of precious, little Abby. She looks so cute in that kitty cup. Hugs and nose kisses
