Our hearts break with seeing the footage on TV
of what is happening and what we know will
happen in the Carolinas over the next 48 hours. Being sadly,
an old hand at Hurricanes, normally they hit, and move
on fairly quickly, but #Florence is going to batter
North and especially South Carolina for up to 48 hours.
Stalling along the coastline is going to really damage
the beaches. Our prayers are with all of those who
are bravely sheltering in place. Leaving is very hard, and
I also say a prayer for those wondering if they will return
back to a standing home.
***
When millions are told to evacuate where do you go?
Many hotels do not accept animals,
and I am seeing on our local news (a lot of people
came south to Florida) that they are saying they found it
very difficult to find a hotel that accepted animals.
I really think during a major natural catastrophe like this
hotels should have to have leeway to accept people
with their animals.
So many people don't leave because they aren't leaving
their pets behind. I know I wouldn't.
This needs to be addressed.

ReplyDeleteAbby’s eyes are what stand out to me.
ReplyDeleteAnd you are quite right about the effect of pets on people in a danger-zone. There needs to be greater responsibility by the authorities and by motels and hotels in this matter.
Abby we are happy that we were able to see a throwback from you. Such a lovely kitty We hope everyone will be safe or is safe and out of the hurricanes path. Thanks for sharing the photo of Abby. Have a wonderful day.

Abby was a beautiful girl. I am praying for all those in the path of Florence.
ReplyDeleteThat's the exact reason I would never leave either.
ReplyDeleteAbby looks like BatCat. :) We’re purring mega purrs for all those affected by this terrible storm.
