Yesterday I shared an image of Abby on the very same
scratcher Annabelle sits her adorable little fuzzy bottom on.
Past
and
Present.

Time stops for no one.
There is only one way.
Forward.

But memories do remain
and there is always a mixture
of bittersweetness to them.
I suppose we simply learn to
live along side the
memories that make us
wistful and linger awhile.
I lost my dad when I was 17. I never got over his passing. I just learn to live without his presence. We move on and they remain in our hearts.

I have those feelings, too when I see the 'current' furbabies using the beds or toys of the previous ones...and then I have to stop a bit to think upon their memories.

We all have time machines. One is memory that brings us to the past. The other is the future that brings us forward...
ReplyDeleteIt's a sweet photo.
ReplyDeleteLife is bittersweet, and the older we get, the more loss we experience. You do just muddle along as best as you can, keep going as best as you can. If we were more like our four-legged companions, perhaps we'd be more present-moment centered and thus would appreciate what each day brings, without regrets or sadness for the past or worry about the future. Hugs!
I sometimes wonder if my older cats remember those who have gone before. It would be nice if they did, at least a little.
ReplyDeleteannabelle, green is SO your color ~~~~~~~~~

Adorable photo, such a sweet girl.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a sweet face. I have been away since Monday so am catching up with today's posts first, and hope to catch up with earlier ones tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteIt's comforting to see our current cats enjoy the same things previous ones did.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beauty, and so was Abby. XO
ReplyDeleteYou look darn cute on the memory scratcher sweet Annabelle!
