It's been a wild two weeks for Miss Annabelle.
But, it's probably longer than that because we all
know how well cats hide their pain.
I say that because of the amount of weight she had lost.
I believe she had cut back on her eating by a lot
because her mouth was bothering her with that
abscessed tooth. I won't ever know but that's what I
suspect.
But the Vet (unscheduled) visit was April 11th and
then all the fall out from the antibiotics or pain meds or
both gave Annabelle a gastro upset which made her
feel awful. Then her Dental work wasn't able to be
scheduled until April 21.
I had to take her in at 7:30 am but the dental didn't begin
until after 1pm. HUH?
To be expected she's sore and swollen and eating
little meals. I know she's miserable but I keep
hoping for that morning where she turns the corner.
She has dissolvable stitches. Does anyone know
(I read that it can take up to a month)
how long they take to dissolve?
My interaction with the actual "Vet" has been
a big fat "0".
Even when the dental was done it was the tech calling
me. The tech has been great but I've only spoken to
a Vet once for about 3 minutes when Annabelle was
first looked at. I don't like this approach,
especially since I had called and asked to directly
speak to the Vet because I had questions.
The tech apologized and gave me the excuse
that the Vet had emergency surgery and couldn't call,
so that's why she was calling me.
Ummmmm....really?
Sounded like an excuse.
But that's all water under the bridge and the only
thing I can do is find another Vet.
Always something. Always.
At this point I just want Annabelle to feel more
like herself again, and be healthy.

I'm continuing to send lots of healing purrs to Annabelle. I wish I could do more.
ReplyDeletePoor Annabelle! I hope she is soon feeling better and gets her appetite back now the tooth has gone.
ReplyDeletePurring lots and sending hugs to Annabelle. Tooth problems really hurt.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Annabelle - and you - are going through this. Don't be surprised if Annabelle is a little changed after all this. I have found that my cats usually change something about themselves after an ordeal. It won't be much, but something may be different. Don't worry; she will still be the same old Annabelle.
ReplyDeleteOnce you find a new veterinary, I would call your old one and explain that you are changing because of the lack of personal touch and concern on his part. Make that clear; it'd do someone else good for the vet to know his work-habit is costing him.
I'm lucky in that with all my cats and all the years I've taken them to the vet, I've never not spoken to the vet during one of the cats' visits.
What a long and horrible ordeal this has been for Annabelle and for you. We are so sorry. We're purring and praying that things get better very soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope she feels better soon and that you can find a better vet. XO
ReplyDeleteUGH...we're lucky our vet is very responsive. We hope she is feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteWe hope and pawray that sweet Annabelle will soon be feeling much better.
ReplyDeleteWe also hope you can find a vet who knows how to be more personable as well as competent and willing to talk to his/her clients.
Purrs to sweet Annabelle from us, we hope the all better shows up soon. Since you only got 3 minutes of Vet time I'd ask for a 50% refund.
ReplyDeleteContinuing to send you loads of purrs and healing thoughts. I agree - it's always something.
ReplyDeleteI am purring for Annabelle and hope she is feeling better soon.
