TBT

There used to be a blog named

DEAR PHOTOGRAPH.

It was a blog that let people use a photograph

of a departed loved one and update it in the same

spot using the photograph and the exact location

within that photograph.

I submitted this one of Abby and they published it in 2013.

Memories Unhidden -- Thankful Thursday

I've been going back through many of my photo files lately.

Looking at things I haven't been able to see in a long long while.

I came across these photos.

I was using my P&S camera recreating the scene inside
the photo.

There is a website called DEAR PHOTOGRAPH
which is where people submit photos of the past
into the present.

I chose Abby.

But I didn't realize that Gracie was photobombing me.
Not until today.
I don't have any recollection at all of her doing this.
Usually when I see a photo I remember it happening,
but I don't remember these at all.
It was a bittersweet 'find'.

The photograph above is the one I chose to
submit to DEAR PHOTOGRAPH
and my blog post about it is HERE.

Dear Photograph

There is a website called Dear Photograph that depicts people taking pictures from the past and holding them up against the same backdrop in the present. It's a very interesting concept.  Little did I think how appropriate it would become to me. (I have submitted this photo to their blog it was printed on September 2, 2013 --->>HERE)
This photograph of Abby is one of my all time favorites. I even had a oil painting done of it which hangs in my bedroom. This photo is from April 2006. She hadn't been with me for a year yet.
So as I sat near the exact same spot where this was taken and tried to line up the foot of the china cabinet I was visited by Boo.

Boo was very interested in the picture.

Abby this was just the perfect photo, she was so happy in that sunbeam. I can see the smile so wide on her face. She loved the sun in the morning as it streamed in in this location. As time passed she would get up onto the dining room table at the edge and catch the rays as they came in during the morning hours. In her later years she discovered the chair tucked away in the corner of the dining room and it was with greater frequency that I found her there. I could always look as I was preparing dinner and see her little face that would poke around the corner. That was one of the harder things to change after she flew away. Looking at that chair and seeing it empty. So it was a happy emotion to see Gracie take up residence in that chair. Not often, but often enough. A kitty needs to be in that chair.

Boo sniffing.

I don't know what she saw.
Abby, maybe?
Because all she could see was the upper part of the china cabinet from this angle.
I would like to think Abby was watching us.
I sure do miss her.
And I will for the remainder of my days.

I love you Abby
to the MOON
and BACK
again, and again and again.

If you have a moment please stop by and light a candle for Abby. The gratefulness candles only stay lit for 48 hours and then they go out. For those who have a candle it means so much to have visitors light the way for their loved ones and to keep their lights from being extinguished.. You may do so HERE--->>> Abby's Candles
Thank you so much.

Dear Abby

There is a website called Dear Photograph where a picture from the past is held up against the same original backdrop now in the present.Their caption reads: " take a picture of a picture, from the past, into the present"
It is a very novel idea.
I submitted this image last week, thinking that they might use it sometime in the future.
Well it published today HERE, so I thought I would share it with you.
