Thursday In The Garden With Boo

::::::::::::::meoooowwwww:::::::::::::::

Miss Boo says come check out what
Mom got all excited about.
Her camellia bush which had been hidden
by many years of overgrown azaleas
is blooming this year.
Mom cleared out the azalea bushes last summer
and this winter we got blooms!
***
We've had little winter here this year in Florida.
It's been in the 80's.
I know for those who are snowed under
this sounds like paradise, but for those of us
who experience this it just feels like more of the same.
***
We would like to have a bit of winter.
Or at least fall.
I don't think we have much time left for some cooler
weather.
*sigh*

Thursday In the Garden

:::::Meooowwwww:::::

Welcome kitties to our garden this week.

I have some exciting creatures to share with you.

LOOK!!!

Don't it look juicy??

Lots of good noms.

I have to tell you Mom isn't sure what this spider is.
She was kinda afraid it may be a black widow.
It has a warning on it's body.
But it does not have the rounded belly
that pictures Mom saw in Google of Black Widows.
But still this was frightening and it was right outside our catio.
So Mom did what any good Mom would do.
She called Dad.
And Dad sent itsy bitsy spider to OTRB.
Sorry you should have built your house someplace else.

Does anyone have any idea if this was a dangerous spider??
So that was our excitement this week.
(BTW the second spider acted very aggressive the larger one
tried to get away and in doing so freaked Mom out)

Thursday in the Garden

:::::meowwwww::::

Welcome to our garden this week.
Don't forget the super secret word to get in!

Nature is amazing don't you think?
I love the way the natural colors mix and form patterns on this flower.

Isn't this cute?
My brother got two of them for me.
It's a solar light in the form of a copper kitty, so cute especially at night.

Of course Mom says no post for the garden would be complete without
seeing some super macro shots.
This cone flower looks to her like it is "bursting".

Don't you love how ferns grown along side of anything and create beauty?

Well Mom I don't know what you find so exciting about a bunch of flowers.
So I'll just watch you from my prime napping spot.

Thursday In The Garden

:::meow:::

Mom was out taking some macro pictures in the garden since a few flowers are starting to bloom.
The above picture is a super close up of one of Mom's roses.

Teeny tiny wedding bouquet plant with a itty bitty bug.
He made the shot.
Thank you Mr Buggy.

Mom has forgotten what this was.
She planted it last year and it came back!

Pretty pyracantha!

Beautiful pink rose.

And handsome me!
Please be sure to check out Master Gardener Jonesie garden as we know
he has the midas paw!
We send our deepest prayers and wishes out to all of those
impacted by these horrible fires.
Thank you Anne for the beautiful graphic to help keep those
who need our prayers closest to our hearts.

Gracie says "welcome" to spring! Things are beginning to bloom around here. Just look at this beautiful close up of one of Mom's camellias!
The pyracantha is full of red berries that the birds love to eat (but be careful there are 2" thorns all over this shrub and they bite...Mom calls this the piranha bush!)
Now kitties if you see this in your yard and your Mom and Dad will NOTICE it's called a stinkhorn mushroom. Yep, it stinks. Like rotting flesh stink. Mom thought it was feral kitty deposits, but nope it's a mushroom, and guess what? It's edible. ICK! The thing to do to get rid of it is use baking soda, or best just get it up root and all and throw it away. They form in mulch or all things...Mom found about 30 of them and OH MY COD do they smell!
Now onto Cory's for more beautiful gardens!

We are so glad to see that Picasa/Google fixed whatever issue it was that was not allowing us to upload our pictures straight from Picasa. We know that Google has been having some issues with some software changes that they made so we hope all of that is now straighten out!
