Do Kitties Have Bad Dreams?

Abby napping amongst the pillows.

This morning as I was getting breakfast ready for the kitties; I noticed Abby behaving differently. She was shivering and she seemed scared. It got me to wondering if cats have nightmares or do they get afraid of things that go bump in the night? Abby was acting peculiar for a completely different reason which I found out before I left for work. I don't know if it's simply because she has no tail and it hurts her but she needed to take care of some personal business before breakfast. Afterwards she was back to her normal self.

Contemplation

Abby caught in deep deliberations or mindless thoughts. What is she thinking so profoundly on? The movement of the leaves outside or the warmth of the sun or some unknown cat ponderance we mere cat(*AMEN I meant human) mortals can't comprehend?
What is your cat thinking?

A Special Bond

Abby every work day morning.
~~~~~
There exists a special bond between Abby and I. We communicate quite well, she and I. One night last week we carried on quite the conversation with her interjecting her thoughts to me when I paused in my conversation to her. I found it quite interesting. She obviously 'talks' to me, and although I know I 'humanize' her vocals calls, I feel that I can tell what she is trying to convey to me.
Do you have a special bond with your kitty?
Ping the Curious
All cats are curious, but by far our most curious kitty is Ping. It didn't take him two seconds to leap into my purple car container. I wish I had been able to catch him actually going into this container. He was like watching fluid liquid in motion. Ping is our most agile cat. He can leap and bound like SUPERCAT. He's a Daddy's boy.
I'm Alright
I got my legs shaved!
Nice and comfy in my new bed.
I told my Mama to let everyone know I ams OK! I had a little rough time and I was a little 'fraid but once I saw my Mama I knew I was going to be alright. It took me awhile to back up on all 4 paws but once I did I felt real good again. Just like new. I got clean new toofies and got that broken front toofy out. I can eat lots better now (where the stinky goodness Mom?). I 'specially liked my Mom got me this hidey bed. I got all better with a new bed to sleeps in. Now I am a happy puddy tat!
Abby's New Bed
Here I am just minding my own business and who do I SEE trying to sneak up on me?
I know there was somebody here just a second ago!
There he is again!
Ping tries to figure out what this new thing is.
Abby has it all figured out and she's settled in nicely.
~~~~
Abby had a rough second day after her dental work. She was really subdued and did not want to leave the security of her new little bed. She is eating well, although I haven't seen her drink or use the litterbox. I feel she is getting liquid from her food so I am not too concerned about that issue. But, I am concerned about the litterbox. With multiple cats it's hard to tell what belongs to whom. Yesterday, she was lethgartic and she seemed depressed. I hope these are only signs of her recovery. She just wasn't her usual peppy self, although she has a great interest in food. She seemed a bit more like herself this morning. But she didn't go through her normal rountine of following behind me with each step I take in the mornings. So, I just hope these are normal reactions on her part. I worry way to much about my little angel kitty.

Gratitude

Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this all my own
I'm letting go~~~~
Ah Mom ya' didn't have to worry 'bout me!
~~~~
When I picked her up at the Vet yesterday Abby was a bit loopy. But she was very happy to see me, when the techincian brought her to me, she came right up to the front of the carrier and head butted me. Her eyes were as big as I had ever seen them. She was a bit disoriented. But once I got her home and opened the carrier she came bounding out on springs. The Vet orders said to keep her quiet and away from the other cats; well Abby wasn't going to have any of that. My poor little angel was straving! She gobbled down a full packet of her favorite food and then I had to open a second one. I took her and sat her down with me but she would not curl up and settle down to nap. It was like she didn't want to close her eyes, like she was afraid of something. Finally I got her settled down and she curled up and slept soundly. I decided the best thing for her was to keep her in her normal rountine. So at bedtime I put her in her little bed. This morning she was a little subdued but still pretty active. She ate well and was really affectionate, but she didn't want to come out of the kitchen, where normally she follows me every step in the mornings. But, I think she is fine, and it such a burden lifted from my shoulders. As much as I tormented myself about having this done; I believe it was the right thing. I hope that getting that tooth out was a relief to her too.
~~~
So grateful I am for having my prayers answered.
*Amen

Update

Abby came through OK. Just got word from the Vet that there were no problems and she came through with flying colors. I can't wait to pick her up and get her home. :-)

My Littlest Angel

Abby
~~~~
A few weeks ago I finally got to see an older movie on TV entitled "Defending Your Life" with Albert Brooks & Meryl Streep. It is a thought provoking movie. It deals with a man who dies and goes to a place where the main characters lives are examined to determine where they should go from that point on. It's premise is based on people letting fear hold them from truly experiencing life to it's fullest. I gave this some thought, and came to the conclusion that there is some truth to this idea. I say all that to admit my f-e-a-r. I have been dreading and fearing taking Abby to the vet for what some would feel is minor dentistry work, maybe even rountine. I ultimately fear losing her to some unknown problem. I worry I am doing the right thing. and believe me I have thought long and hard about having this done to her. But, I realize my fear and I am doing the best I can to overcome it. Today will be hard for me, and for her. It was difficult for me this morning to not go through our normal weekday rountines, it was hard to walk out the door and say goodbye. It will be hard to know how afraid she will be when my husband puts her in the carrier to take her the 45 minute ride to the vet. It will be hard to know she is alone at the vet today, fearful and out of her normal rountine. It will be hard waiting to hear that it's all over and she is fine. SHE IS FINE! It will be hard, and I will be fearful, and I will work on that fear, and she will be fine. I love you Abby, you are my angel.
