Leader of the Band
The leader of the band is tired
And his eyes are growing old
But his blood runs through my instrument
And his song is in my soul
My life has been a poor attempt
To imitate the man
I'm just a living legacy
To the leader of the band
I am the living legacy
To the leader of the band

ManCat Monday With Ping
Our Mancat likes to go out on the screen porch when he wants to go.
He doesn't like to be kept waiting.
If you make him wait, he will show you his displeasure by spraying on the curtain.
*sigh*
The morale:
LET HIM OUT!

Candles of Remembrances
We know that not everyone is having the easiest of times at the Holiday. Dear ones no longer with us cause aching hearts. We want to member all of those no longer here in physical form with this lovely verse. May those who have empty hearts find some peace wrapped in the warmth of the memories of their loved ones.

Miss Boo is keeping a close eye out for Santa Paws.
We hear it won't be long until he comes down the chimney!
Our Christmas Ornament Addition
We thought we would share with you the one Christmas ornament added to the collection this year.
It can be purchased from HSN from the Happy Chic collection by Jonathan Adler.
We think he is furry cute!

Christmas at The Reef
Dad and Mom went out yesterday and left us kitties at home, here is where they went. *whoa* that is a big bath tub!
It was a beautiful clear warm-"ish" day. All you needed was a jacket. The water was just fantastic.

A Kitty Pretzel
This is a very typical sleep position for Abby.
She will loop her paw over her leg or even over her nose, which when she does she snores.
Loudly.
You can hear her from one room to the next.
One would think that it caused her to be uncomfortable, but no, it doesn't.
My little sleepy baby.

Beauty Within
"Those who love you are not fooled by mistakes you have made or dark images you hold about yourself. They remember your beauty when you feel ugly; your wholeness when you are broken; your innocence when you feel guilty; and your purpose when you are confused."

Feral Friday
Tuesday and Wednesday the temperatures were severely cold for Northern Florida. Both nights they temperatures dipped to 20F.

We have not seen Mr Kitty since Tuesday morning as the arctic cold dipped into our area. He came for breakfast but as the cold front came in with heavy winds he took off for the wooded area near our property. We have been worried about Mr. Kitty.
We hope he is OK.
***
I am also a bit worried about Abby.
She has not been perky self.
She still eats, drinks and I think she is having normal body functions.
(Cats are notorious for being private)
But she is sleeping a lot.
After short breakfasts she gets up in her little warm snuggly blanket and doesn't move until dinner. The she eats and goes back to her blanket.
She hasn't been following me around like she normally does.
After finishing up visiting fur friends she will jump down and come with me and sit in my lap. Then we snuggle down for bed and she sleeps beside me until I get up, and it all starts over again. I just hope that because she is older that the cold has made her act this way.
If it continues I will take her to the Vet.
It's just a feeling of unease.
I hope now that our weather is returning to seasonal she will perk up some.
****
UPDATE:
The weather has been in the upper 70's today, and guess what?
Abby is back to her normal self!
I guess she just can't take the cold damp winter weather, even though I try and keep the temperatures up in the house (just for the cats!) it still doesn't warm her up enough.
Thanks for all of your concern!

Today at DAILY DOSE OF DOGS(AND CATS), Chrystal is having a comment-a-thon.
Here is what she related :
"Don't forget that on Friday, we will launch Pam's Gotcha Day Comment-a-thon celebration right here at the daily dose. All you have to do is leave a comment after her story, anytime between midnight on Thursday night until midnight on Sunday night. For every comment left on this blog during that period of time, Pam will donate fifty cents to our dream of a second cathouse. Oh, do please come by this weekend, and leave a comment."
So please if you will be so kind, drop in and leave a quick comment.
Chrystal and all her rescued animals will thank you!

On Frozen Pond
This was taken the first week in December, notice the fountain is frosty and icy but the water is still moving.
This is how it looks this morning. Yesterday it froze solid and NEVER unfroze. It was that cold all day long.
There is even ice up along the side of the fountain bowl.
The water is frozen completely solid.
The past two days our night time temperatures hovered around 20F.
I know for many that is not that cold.
But we are in Florida.
The past two nights we had record breaking cold.
But today the high will rebound to nearly 60F,and tomorrow nearly 70F.
I don't know about you, but I find the weather patterns:
AMAZING!

Mr Kitty Visits
Mr Kitty is still our special outside kitty.
He has nearly adopted us and stays very close to our yard.
Dad has fixed up his house and it has been lifted up off the ground and he has hay inside to keep him warm from the cold nights.
We wish we could do more.
He is such a sweet guy.
But he is so scared.
