Tuxie Toosday Memory

I just love this picture. It was one I had forgotten about until I started editing, or I should say reediting all of my photo files on Abby. There have been lots of tears shed but I find when I am working on her images I feel a peacefulness too. I have so much editing work ahead of me because I have so many photos of her. Not enough, no complaints on my part  -- I wish I could take a zillion more of her. So I had decided after doing a bit of research that the best way to store my images is to have hard copies of everything that I cherish. I already have cloud storage plus external storage and even extra external storage because well things fail. So now I will have physical hard copies as well. So I have quite an assortment of backups to my backups.
**
I know all of this may sound extreme but if you follow any professional or semi professional photographers you will know that storage options fail all the time so it's best to have back ups to all your back ups. I don't depend on an income for my photographs but they are as precious to me as anything I own. So, I am trying to preserve them based on problems other have had and learning from their mistakes.

**
Those precious little eyes peering over the top of the basket at me while I am taking her picture melts my heart even to this day. Hard to believe it was 7 years ago. If only I could go back in time...and I still think of the movie Somewhere In Time and wish it were true. We all want do overs on some things, even though it's not something we can ever have.

**
Just miss that furry face.
I know I always will.
Even though I carry her within my heart at all times.
I miss her daily presence.
**
Loving you Abby
to the Moon
and back.
again
and again and again.

Abby's Journey -- Tuxie Toosday Memories

A few weeks ago I had to open a new bag of dried cat food.
It brought back a slew of memories.
Tears flowed.

You see Abby was always the first one to christen a new bag. She always had to have first dibs on it. First by marking it and then by having the first few bites out of the bag which I would let her get herself. She really enjoyed that.

Abby was keeping all the other kitties away from her "treasured" bag of kibble.

She waiting now on top of the counter for her first taste.

Waiting....

Score!!!!

Oh Abby I still see you sitting right here. I see you as plain as day. I miss those beautiful amber eyes staring back at me. I think every day of the things we shared, and I talk to you as if you were still with me in your physical form. I know you must get very tired of me telling you the same thing over and over again, but I just can't stop missing your presence. Missing your ways. Missing your bigger than life personality. Missing you.
I love you Abby, love you more than these simple yet powerful words can convey. I am making progress Abby. I am not as apt to break down into tears as I did just a few short weeks ago. It's only 64 days since you've gone. Sixty four. The days they continue to roll by Abby. Soon October will turn into November and then December and then this gosh awful year will close. I thought I was glad to see August end, but I think the end of 2013 will be good for me to see over. Perhaps 2014 will show more promise. Maybe there will be more bright days than dim ones. I know you would not want me to continue to feel the nothingness I am feeling now, but I don't know how to make it better, so I am just following the advise of those who have made this journey and doing the best I can. I am hoping that the passage of time will wear away the hollowness and I will find that my mind will not be dwelling on your loss, but rather on your life. Because I do sincerely feel blessed that you came to me and I will always feel that was a gift, each day with you was a gift for which I am grateful. So please bear with me while I walk this path alone towards you and into the light of healing and wholeness.

UPDATE
DaddyCat got moved from the hospital to a Rehab facility yesterday.
It was very hard on him, very hard.
The transition wasn't as smooth as hoped for, but in the scheme of things, we have discovered that is just the way things go. DaddyCat has some serious difficulties to overcome plus rehab his surgically repaired leg. We are praying for healing and Rehab to work.

Tuxie Toosday Twins

MIRACLES!!!!

This has never happened before.
Side by side and touching each other.
Although I have to tell you it was Abby who initated the
scene.
Boo was NOT happy but she stayed there with Abby
for quite some time.
It was just such a extraordinary sight to see.
However brief it was.

Avatar

Thanks to Oui Oui for showing us how to make
an avatar over at Cartoonize My Pet, and also
for the great  ideas on how to "customize" it with a little
photo editing.
You see over at CMP they don't have Manx kitties.
They have bobtails, but *notails*
So with a little magic from the clone tool Mom was able to get
rid of the bob tail that she had attached to my avatar.
Now it looks a lot more like me!
Of course now she has to do 4 more cartoons!
We hope you will go over and enjoy this cool tool, and
if you need a tutorial, Oui Oui has a few posts on how
to make the avatar and how to save it and customize it.

Tuxie Tuesday With Abby

Photographing a black and white or a solid black cat
is not easy.
I  had my macro lens on my camera when I took a series of photos
of Abby this week.
This is one of the results.
I am a huge fan of the bokeh effect which is the out of focus area in the background
of this photo.
For me personally, I love this picture.
I love being able to capture how beautiful Abby is in my mind's eye.
She was very patient with me while I took over 50 quick photos of her
at many angles.
To me, she looks angelic with the soft light backlighting her sweet face.
I hope you like the results.

Tuxie Toosday

Today Abby has Mr. Jinx join her on Tuxie Toosday.
She wanted to show you her size next to a "normal" sized cat.
We call Mr. Jinx 'hefty' but height wise he is normal, as you can see she is pint size in comparison.
But believe me moments after this picture she swatted the heck out of him and he moved.
Most of the time, she is pretty OK with Jinx.
He is the only one she is OK with.
He will groom her on top of her head and she likes that.
Most of the time, when she 'meows' at him to boss him around (just like all the others) he will just
saunter away. He is so mellow. It is only when she gets really hissy with him that he might paw her
on top of the head. Mr Jinx is our 'daddy cat' he takes care of all the others in his special low keyed way.
