Read the daily musings of our beloved Angel Abby who passed over to the Rainbow Bridge August 12,, 2013. Our sister Gracie recently passed OTRB 2/11/14. Join our two Tabby Brothers, Ping and Jinx, and their Tuxedo sister Boo along the journey as they all adapt to new life with Manx Calico Annabelle who joined our family December 2013.
Please don't beat yourself up about not knowing Abby had hyperthyroidism. We were just lucky that we caught Socks', he looked fine and the vet gave him a clean bill of health his thyroid wasn't enlarged. And I almost didn't get the blood work done. And I really think without the blood work you wouldn't catch it until too late because the only symptom Socks had was an increased appetite with no weight gain.
I know in the case of my vet she gives me as much info as she has (she likes her clients to make informed decisions) but since she isn't a specialty vet she doesn't have all the answers and often has to call specialty vets to get more info and details. But she has been great about helping get the info we need to make the best decisions for Socks.
Gracie, you are so beautiful. We don't see enough of you. Please tell your mom that you need more screen time. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
