During the past week I noticed a dry cough that Boo was
exhibiting. It only lasted a few seconds & I only saw it
happen once off and on for a few days.
But it persisted.
Then to top it off I noticed her scooting on the carpet.
So, I knew she needed to visit the Vet.
So bloodwork, exam, xrays and one consult later
and we know that Boo is in the beginning stages of
heart disease. She is scheduled for an echocardiogram
next month to find out exactly what shape her heart is in.
That cough is probably related to Asthma.
A very very minor case.
It is not related at all to her heart.
We are awaiting the echo before any medication is added,
if any is needed.
Her respiration is super good. Less than 30 breaths a minute.

Oh yes, unfortunately much to her dignity being slapped
in the face, she had to have her anal glands expressed
and they truly needed it. So to top off all the indignity
she will have to have that done more often.
So please keep her in your purrs & prayers.
Miss Boo, we purr hard for you.

Our best to Boo! It's a good thing you noticed the cough and took it seriously, and that's what got her in for an exam. Those things are often ignored.

ReplyDeleteOh no! Boo, we sure hope the results show your heart to be in good shape overall. We're so sorry to hear this. Sorry about your bottom too. Pierrot has to have that done every so often (he scoots regularly unfortunately) and he doesn't like it either. It's so good you went to the vet even though it was for something entirely different. Purrs to you and your mom!
ReplyDeleteOh Boo, that sounds like a not so nice visit to the vet.We sure hope the heart thing turns out all right. We certainly send purrs and prayers to you. And we have our paws crossed too. Have a good evening.
ReplyDeletePoor Miss Boo, I will add her to my prayer list. XO
ReplyDeleteSending healing purrz. Since when did expressing anal glands become so popular. Vets are kinky. I’ve sneezed a few times. TW is thinking Fall allergy season. She’s gonna have to start wetting me down.
ReplyDeletePaws crossed that Miss Boo's echo is good and she doesn't need medications.
