I am so very thankful for this gorgeous golden eyed beauty.

Love you Annabelle.

Thankful Thursday In the Garden

Mom has been working outside in the garden.

She had an azalea bush, HAD, the last one

in the flower beds around the house.

Several years ago she & Dad removed

all the shrubs around the house because of
maintenance reasons, she is so glad of that.

But, there was one stubborn azalea that would 

not come out.

Well, over the winter it gave up the ghost.

So with a handy ax & pruners, Mom got it 

down to ground level.

We were hoping Candid Camera was around

so everyone could have laughed as hard as

we did with Mom using that ax.

Since it is impossible to remove the dead roots,

second best option was a planter filled with 

pretty flowers.

That was another Candid Camera moment.

As Mom had to move the flower container

which is pretty large and already filled with dirt

into place, but she did.

She was pleased with the results.

Good job Mom,

I'm just amazed at what I saw!

And that is our thankful post this week

from the Garden.

Something got me wondering....

I wondered if it was just my imagination.

But, no it wasn't.

Just look at the change.

These photos were taken the same month

just a year apart.

Look at how different Annabelle looks.

Her coat is fluffy and full. 

*so is her body*

Doesn't she look gorgeous with the filled in fluff?

I am so thankful to see her

emerge from her cocoon and blossom.

 Time

has a wonderful way

of showing us

what really

matters.

Have you ever tried talking to your cat in their language?

 What began as a lark has turned into something I can barely describe.

One day I mur-rowwwwed at Annabelle.

 She looked at me with such astonishment.

What?

What did you?

I obviously said something.

Because everything single time I do it now. She comes up to me

and sniffs me purring and happy and meowing back.

I am saying something important.

In her language that she understands perfectly clearly.

I believe it's akin to "I love you".

And that my friends

is a lot to be thankful for.

Why Annabelle this is a silly ladybug.

 All this ladybug did was go round and round and round the lip of this terracotta pot.

Which was fine with me as I was trying to photograph her!

 Yellow is such a gorgeous springtime color!

Thankful Thursday In The Garden

 Welcome to our Thankful Thursday Garden Tour!

It may be hard to tell but the white and green background is our jasmine in full bloom.

 Abby's Garden is filling up. I added Annabelle's name stake and I am ordering one for Ping, Boo and Jinx so all the cats will be included in the garden.

 The Lilies are all starting to bloom.

 Last year I replanted every one of those Lily of the Nile and I cannot tell you how much work it was. Our pyracrantha had rotted out from the roots and we had to remove a very mature, heavily stickered tree. It was one very tough job. This year I am so glad that we did that task as this is so much easier to maintain and grow.

SO my gratitude is less is more!
