I'm Back

On the way...
the blanket I am riding on says:
SPOILED ROTTEN

Momma captured me and tortured me today. She put in a cage and made me go to the V-E-T. I was not happy. I cried all the way to the V-E-T. They stole my bloods and stuck me with sharp pins. They clipped my beautiful long claws and said I *gasp* gained weight. The V-E-T was not upset that I had gained. Momma was afraid they were going to tell her I had to go on a diet, but the V-E-T was happy with my weight gain. I have to wait until tomorrow to find out if my bloods are all OK, but I have been doing great the past few days so Momma hopes that it was just a once in a blue moon thing when I got sicks a few weekends ago. I don't like going in the car and being stuck and poked and prodded at the V-E-T.

AbbaDabbaDazzle

From the Mom:
The past two weeks Abby has been having on and off tummy troubles. I have been trying different things to see if I could make life return to normal. I have had some success, but not enough. Abby has a V-E-T appointment tomorrow at 1PM. I realize my sweet angel is getting older (she'll be 11 in July) and senior cats I know require more. Just like older hoomans require more. So, as much as I hate making her afraid, which she will be when she goes into the PTU, I am going to take her in and have her checked out throughly. I hope I am being overly cautious and nothing turns up other than maybe changing her diet even more than I have over the last two weeks. Abby is notorious picky, so I can only hope if we have to make a diet change that she'll eat it. She's also notorious stubborn. So please keep her in your thoughts and send her a purr or two her way because she is going to be one very unhappy kitty.

Beautiful Blogger

First off we'd like to thank Team Tabby for our Beautiful Blogger Award. FANKS Moe, Mindy,Cookie, Mike and Bon Bon!

This award requires that we reveal seven things about us and then we need to pass the award on to seven more bloggers to continue the fun!

Abby: I'll go first...I am totally devoted to my Momma. She belongs to me and no one else. If any of my other brofurs or especially my sisfurs try to get near her and I see it, I chase them off. Then I mark Momma all over with my sweet scents. I tell you she's mine!!!! Mine mine!!!

Boo: Abby is not just devoted to Momma she's obsessed! Crazy I tell you. The master bedroom is my domain. I am a very solitary kitty and I love peace and quiet, and with such a wild group I don't get any, so I always ask Momma to let me go into the bedroom. I sleep on top of the satellite box because it's nice and warm and I get total peace and quiet.

Ping: I am the prankster of the family. Yes, I admit it I like to pull Boo, my sisfur tail! She's an old stick in the mud, so I try to loosen her up, ya know? I am a very energetic mancat. I have magic springs. I can leap tall buildings and soar through the air with no problems. Momma is thankful that I am now 7 and slowing down just a bit, but not much.

Jinx: All I want is food and a nice place to sleep. Momma has started to take up the crunchies at night because Abby was overeating and throwing up, so now I am starving -- I am going to die I just know it -- I starve all night long now. And when I'm hungry I chew on anything to get Momma's attention to feed me including electrical wires.

Gracie: I am still very shy. But, when Momma calls my name I come running from wherever I am. I love the Momma purrson. She has always been so good to me and she talks softly to me and gives me lots of attention.

Abby:Did I mention to you that I don't like Boo? I don't know where she got this I am obsessed with Momma stuff. She's mine. I own her. Period. Boo is a wuss.

Boo: A what? Huh, Abby I think when I charge you you're the one who becomes a wuss. You shrink back and hiss at me while I pretend I'm going to claw your eyes out. I did claw part of your ear off, you remember? I think that is why you don't mess too much with me. I may seem like I'm reticent but deep down I have the heart of a panther. Don't fool with me, or else you will face the power of the paw!

As you can see we're one big happy family!

We think a lot of you have played this, but if not please play along, we consider all of you beautiful bloggers.

Tuxie Toosday

This weekend was a wee bit worrisome.
Friday night & Saturday night, Abby was very sick.
Friday was by far the worst. I didn't realize how badly she was feeling until I got up Saturday morning. She had thrown up all over the Living Room. I have learned to keep extra covers on the furniture, so all I have to do is take everything up and wash it. This was extensive, the poor baby and what's worse I could hear her stomach and intestines rumbling. I was a lot more careful with what she ate Saturday and she didn't have any problems keeping down her wet food. No mishaps throughout the daytime. That night I noticed her stomach was again rumbling, so I was not too keen on giving her many treats, but she begged and begged and I gave in. So, she got sick again Saturday night, just not as bad. Again she was fine through the day time, but Sunday I decided to take up the kibble that I leave out all night and really restrict her treats. Believe me she begged and begged and begged and I wouldn't give her anything...and what's worse, Boo didn't get any treats either, poor baby.
But, there was no tummy troubles on Monday morning.
So, I think my girl likes to eat.
And doesn't know when to stop.

Mancat Monday: Ping Is Concentrating

I should explain this picture.
When I am measuring things in the laundry room, Ping is always after the measuring tape. When it dangles from my neck, he is fascinated by the movement of it as it sways back and forth. Then when I lay it down on the table to measure with, it falls upon the floor and then I have an attack cat. So I decided to take the tape and use it as a tail and walk quickly up and down the hallway with Ping in hot pursuit. Most of the pictures I got where fuzzy, but this show how attentive Ping is when he wants something. He loves to play and is interested in everything. Gracie was also a part of this, but she is very skittish, so she would let Ping play and watch and only come forward after he was done. You can't see her, but she is off in the distance behind him watching just as intently.

The Old Barn

"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever . . . it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything."~Aaron Siskind

That old barn sat for decades on the land my Grandmother owned in Texas.
Lots of memories lie there...even those that seemed buried and forgotten, they are still alive because of an old B/W picture that shows what once stood and is no more.

FROOTLOOPIN

Ok, ok you caught me in the act.
This is my stash.
I'm a frootloopaholic.
I'll admit it.
That's the first step, isn't it?
Admitting you have a problem.
OK, ok .... ok...I'll give up the froot loops.
Now can I have a Twix?

Happy St Pat

The Legend of St. Patrick

History of St. Patrick

The man who would one day become Saint Patrick was born in the fifth century A.D. in Britain. When he was a teen he was kidnapped by Irish Pirates and sold into slavery in Ireland. While he was enslaved he studied Christianity, and after escaping he went to study the religion further. He spent twelve years in a monastery under the tutelage of St. Germain, bishop of Auxerre. It was here that he realized his calling. He returned to Ireland with the word of God and began converting the native pagans to Christianity. History tells that he traveled Ireland for thirty years, building schools and monasteries all over the island.3 March 17, the date of the holiday, commemorates his death. Another Adventure With My Mom

Point LaVista
Pacific Ocean

This is one spot you can go and whale watch.
In 1981 my Mom and I took a trip out to see my brother who was stationed in San Diego.
Mom was born in San Diego and had left when she was only 3 months old.
It was quite the trip for her.
San Diego is absolutely breath taking.
This was my first trip out to the Southern California.
What a difference between the East Coast and the West Coast.
Florida has flat beaches, but I have to say I prefer the tall cliffs over the ocean, so beautiful.

Oh My What A Handsome Face

Ping is the most photogenic of all of our kitties. He has such a expressive face and his whiskers are extra long. He actually doesn't mind posing for me. Do you think he knows how handsome he is? I wonder sometimes because he is our ultra slim boy. He has the graceful movement of a finely tuned athlete. But he is also our most insecure kitty. When Ping first arrived, he was painfully fearful. The former owners did something to put the fear of people in him. After nearly 7 years Ping has emerged from his shy shell. He is a wonderful playful character, who will chatter all day at you, especially when he wants to get out on the back porch for some good sniffs like he is doing in the above picture. (Now if only I could totally cure him of his spraying....if he suspects a new introoder is outside, he will 'protect' and mark his terrority)
