Thursday In The Garden

It's Thursday that must mean you'll find us in the garden.

Some of Mom's mums.

And a sleepy boy.

That's our small stroll around the garden this week.
**yawn**
Please make sure you check with Jonesie to see what's up
and we hope you'll drop in again.
Now it's time for my nap.

Thursday In The Fall Garden

                                                           ::::meooowwww:::

Mom wasn't in our garden when she took the above picture
but she thought the color of the all of these
roses in the grocery store made her think of "fall".

Our Japanese maple getting ready for Winter.

Mom is clueless what flower this is.
Just love the color!

So that's it for our garden this week.
Thank you for stopping and by and helping me keep an eye
on Mom!
Please make sure you check out Master Gardener Jonesie, who
is always cooking up some good things.

Thursday In the Garden

:::::::meoooowwwww:::::::

So glad to welcome you into our garden this week.

Mom took pictures of a hodgepodge of things.

And she played around with some funky photoshopped tricks.

Of course this guy, George isn't photoshopped.

But I sure would love to make him my snack!

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope to see you soon.
Please be sure to check in with Jonesie and she how his garden is doing!

Thursday In The Garden With Boo

:::::meowwwww:::::

Welcome to this weeks garden tour.
Mom has some new roses blooming.

A few weeks ago one of the temporary roadside garden spots
was closing for the season and Mom and Dad got these rose bushes for $5.
(They were selling for $20)

She didn't even know what the roses were going to look like.
The only description was "cut roses".
So Mom was delighted to see this pink bicolor beauty.

Mom noticed the light in the garden and just thought it was pretty.

Mom's fascination with the cone flower.

Well that sums up this week in the garden.
Mom keeps going out in the garden and doing stuff every week.
I don't get what she finds so fascinating out there.
But one of us has to keep an eye on her.
This week it was my turn.

Thursday In the Garden

:::::Meow:::::

We come to you from inside our garden this week and
we've decided to show you our pink blossoms!
First stop is at a double impatient.
(Mom loves the bokahs!)

Now onto our roses.

A super macro shot of a geranium.

Another macro shot of those roses.

The teeny tiny buds of the geranium.

Me taking it all in and wondering why Mom is
so happy with these silly flowers.

We hope you enjoyed our pink flowers this week, and
we hope you will also go and visit with the true garden
guru, Jonesie.
Until next week.
Happy gardening!

Thursday In The Garden

:::::meow:::::

Welcome to our blooming summer garden.
We thought we would show you a few of our favorite pictures
from the garden.
Mom thinks she is being artistic when she finds spider webs
hanging between the trees and stumps.
Some of our pretty amaryllis blooms.

Ping says:
There is a good whiff I sense.

Boo says:
More than a whiff Ping!

Gracie says:
Oh yeah forget those flowers kitties, look at George!

AKA:George
We thank you for your visit today with us and of course
with George.
Come back next week for more of Mom's garden.
Until then be sure and check our Master Gardener Jonesie.

Thursday in the Garden

:::meow:::
Today our tour begins and ends in the 'rose garden'.

Mom loves her roses.

They have done really well so far this year.

And you know Mom can't resist a close up.
Or two...

There are literally hundreds of blooms.

I don't know about you, but I think I am cuter than those silly flowers!

And we hope you will go over and visit Jonesie, the Master of all Master Gardeners to check on his progress in his Garden.
Thank you for visiting with us in ours.

Thursday UP CLOSE in the garden

::::meow:::
Thursday UP CLOSE in the garden
Mom got a macro lens for Christmas.
(She loves it)
So she loves going around and finding the smallest things in the garden
to photograph.

I don't know what she finds so interesting about
all of it, so I think I will just lay here and watch her
out of this window.
Whatever Mom.

Thursday In the Garden

:::meow:::

Mom has a bed of variagated amaryllis,but last year
while in BIG LOTS of all places she saw a kit
with a bulb for one red amaryllis, so she bought it.
Last year it did not produce a bloom.

But it was worth the wait.
Because this year it did.

Isn't it just stunning?

Mom of course had to take macro shots!

And we can't believe our squeamish Mom got close enough
to take this guy's picture.
He is a menace.
He is a Rusty Tussock caterpillar.
To insect lovers, the Tussock Moth caterpillars are known for their striking tufts of hair, or tussocks. Many species exhibit four characteristic clumps of bristles on their backs, giving them the appearance of a toothbrush. Some have longer pairs of tufts near the head and rear. Judged by looks alone, these fuzzy caterpillars seem harmless, but touch them with a bare finger and you'll feel you've been pricked by fiberglass. A few species, like the Brown-tail, will leave you with a persistent and painful rash.

I bet he would taste good.
BTW Mom squishes them when she finds them as they EAT everything.
So the little guy above, gone to caterpillar heaven.
Be sure to check out
Master Gardener Jonesie for more beautiful tours!
